If D2D is incorporated into workload Ill be ditching my membership. No question.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
Surely if you put door to door into workload in exchange for a weekly supplement it would be an increase in basic wage not takes home as lots will lose their door to door payments I presume the current grandfather rights money (NDA) could also be made permanent but still would not be a significant increase for most. In fact if that money is split between all it could mean a decrease so it looks like some winners most losers on take home pay. However basic would be improved and that should flow into your pension and holidays but it’s ALL guess workit does include a massive increase in take home money and it does include d2d into workload

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
HQ sound worried. Why has Dingo released details and risked breaking the gagging order?
I am willing to wait for the agreement before passing judgement. I think the leaks are designed to get us to let off steam and dissipate our anger before the release. My anger is increasing.
If we are presented with a bad agreement, we can demonstrate how we feel at CWU HQ and Old Street.
A no vote means no to the agreement. Changes to our contracts can only happen by consent. The union cannot use collective bargaining to bring in changes the workforce do not agree to.
The union have been trying to scare us by saying that management will bring in changes by 'executive action.' What the f**k is 'executive action'? Doesn't employment law protect us from having our contracts changed without agreement?

Employment law does not protect you from change !! Why did you ever think that !! We have the worse employment laws of any EU country and only slightly better than the hire and fire regime of the states.MinisterofCucumber wrote:HQ sound worried. Now I am nothing to do with Headquaters and I dont fight their battles they are bigger enough and dare I say ungly enough to fight their own.
The agreement does not change your legal rights but you dont have a legal right to not to do door to door , not accept automation , not work all your hours etc.

Pensions is not in an agreement cause Royal Mail cant solve the pension issue only the government can. Thats why the union is lobbying the government at the moment. The pension defcit when it is announced will mean the pension trustees force Royal Mail legally to come up with a plan which meets the defcit. That means our pensions are at risk and Royal Mail will have to pay more money into the pension defcit instead of investing it in beating the likes of TNT etc and will mean they contiue to attack our jobs and conditions.
The only agreement the union needs on pensions is with the Government not Royal Mail

Re D2d
If they come in like now 5 would be a nightmare, but if they come in prebundled some how and was even mentioned in the Couirer ,all bundled together in 1 envelope that would be ok .
and like Big Daz said it must be fair, our factory men who already have it easier than the walking Postmen might only have a 100 firms to deliver to yet wa walking Postmen
could have 600 + ALL FOR THE SAME MONEY HARDLY FAIR IS IT ?

If the money for D2D is part of our wages I take it that it will all be pensionable.pickaname wrote:I see the pension issue has been removed from the agreement YET AGAIN.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
"D2D incorparated into workload" ?
What does this mean? Whats different to how we do things now?
The current agreement allows for D2D prep ( 20% a day ) within your duty time.
Delivery of D2D within duty time.
When being walktested we include 20% prep / delivey
SO WHATS DIFFERENT ?
How will things change ?

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
Simple answer is that your 1st stop to last stop will be planned to include door to door.
At the moment when planning deliveries routes door to door is not taken into account, as RML want us to do more the CWU want in return for delivery routes/duties to be planned to include door to door.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
Well in short they won't change one bit - if you are full time you will be doing more work and no extra hours and if you are part time you will be doing extra work without more hours - the talk of saving full time jobs has always been a red herring, because D2D has ALWAYS been part of the workload whatever spin you put on it.Cut Off King wrote:"D2D incorparated into workload" ?

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
If you go from a perfect 3.5 hour del to a 4 hour span with door into workload in theroy it would mean you dont get 30 mins delivery put on but less so as to account for door to door. Also with increased door to door you need more prep time so this will be planned into the indoor element of your duty.
Dingo is the best person to explain, but thats my understanding of door to door into workload.
Im sure a explanation will be in the agreement.
