ive never known such lengthy negotiations, how many hours have they been talking?
Its simply unbelievable.

Oh come on, how do you expect them to come up with an agreement in just ""3 MONTHS AND 1 f***ing WEEK""" !!!!!

You've got to look on the bright side, we did manage to call off industrial action and have a strike free xmas - makes you wonder though...............if we hadn't done that, the backlog potential mountainous, nothing like stress to focus the mind on finding a solution. There is a little bit of prevarication here though, the PEC had actually been due a meeting on Tuesday, then Wednesday and Thursday was supposed to be Roger Poole coming down from TUC HQ with two jointly signed tablets of stone from the melting pot of three months of negotiating - so should we be getting the fatted calf ready or are we going to be bowing down before the golden idol?????? Old JC was wandering in the wilderness for just 40 days and nights and in that time he had cast aside temptation and set his house in order - still that WAS before the digital age and the internet. Soo in 100 days we should see something truly righteous or not.

They did meet Tuesday but not wednesday but met thursday. Look in the post offices section of the site and you will see what was up for discussion Tuesday, which I assume was a normal/regular pre scheduled meeting and yesterdays meeting was I assume dispute/talks specific.

PEC Met today and received an update from negotiators.

Talks are continuining and will be resuming on Monday.

An update on this and more will be put out tomorrow to all branches via LTB

S0 me old mucker why the delay? dont mean to be an old arse but there must be more to whats going on than meets the eye
Its been so long since we all heard some relative news i think we are all going quakers but thanks for the update cheers

I've been told by my union rep that the stumbling block in the talks is pay. RM are adamant we will not be getting a pay rise. The union will not back down on their position that we should!

This is utterly insane. I know we don't have the actual facts yet, but so far, the only things coming from RM and the CWU about these negotiations are what I would consider the "stick." Just where the hell is the "carrot" amidst all this eh? If they don't think a payrise is justifiable, just what the hell has been negotiated to our actual benefit as opposed to detriment?

It would appear that the PEC are less than enthusiastic about the level of agreement, which considering the upbeat "leaks" on hear, is quite surprising. The sticking point is "costings" - that presumably is a new speak term for NO MONEY - someone suggested that we have £10 a week deducted from our pay this year to finance our £10 pay rise next year, the CWU are considering the idea

I really really really can't wait to see this agreement - but even more than that - I really really really really can't wait to see how the sycophantic spin merchants are going to put it across.
