Just because talks will resume then doesn't mean they won't be working on proposals, costings etc...and they will be.

Ah Yes Lovejoy, the anti-critic, strange that the word is not out on the street with words of encouragement, like it's always darkest before the dawn, things could be worse but fortunately my position is secure, money isn't everything, our negotiators have tried their best and got the only deal available, we need to be grateful that someone is looking after our best interests, we have managed to de-couple any reward and remuneration from the agreement for the next three years, thankfully we have made it virtually impossible to take industrial action if you are not satisfied with RMs bullying and harassment.

Actually the in confidence nature of the talks makes getting any info out very difficult that's why I haven't been on here...... but if thinking something different is what gets you off then carry on

LOVEJOY, How much influence does the opinions / post on this site have with the PEC / SENIOR CWU ?h

I ask this because many of the posts on here ( Hands up, mine included ) have been negative / critical of the negotiations & whats muted to be on offer. Because of this, have the negotiators worked harder to get us a better deal ? If we haddn't complained / bitched so much, would they have settled for less ? After all its us who have the final vote - and any deal this time will have to be good to get a majority yes .

I think the pressure of the membership makes a massive difference mate. Probably more via members meetings, branches writing in etc. The trouble with a site like this is people can say anything they want and a real debate is very hard to get going. For example in 2007 this site was very negative but the vote went through 2-1, on that basis the site is not reflective of the 'average' member.

In the lead up to the 2007 dispute this site had real value. Good debates, threads kept on course and an open opinion to peoples contributions.

If you want my honest opinion its a bit of a talk shop now with a few contributors dominating the board. I don't come on as much which is mainly due to family committments but I dispair of some of the shite that is written on here and the way every thread is hijacked.

sorry if some of us talk sh*te and hijack threads lovejoy, its just we are an ungrateful shower of sh**e who have (in my sh*tey opinion) been let down in the last 2 major agreements, that added to this strung out, no information given, not told about the supposed dead strike ballot negotiation, why would you want to hang about here when you are having to field real questions and give real answers that are in black and white, sorry for hijacking this thread and any others with my concerns for my job

My problem with these talks is this. Why should we have any confidence that we will get a good deal they could not even get to talk due to snow, had a break over Christmas don't do a full week while we get screwed over as usual. In two months nothing has changed my DOM must still be working on cuts going by the discussions from my colleaugues when I got in this morning, and that's in a office where we are absorbing daily on OT due to not enough cover for sickness and hols.
