Re: New Pay Deal
will part timers have the same rights when it comes to the bumper pay off for d2ds..
after all they do the same amount of d2d and get paid the same..
i could bet u they try flog the part timers off with sum bolooons about them not on the same criteria as ft.
tbh as a part time on 140 a week to get 2k in one wage wood be amazing !
could get everything im saving up for in one go and i could pay off all my debt .
PUT 2k in my bank RIGHT NOW
and oh yeh put pay up to abotu £10 an hour.
ill do d2ds for that anyday.
what in all likely hood do you think the hourly rate will go up to?

You are wrong, we don't get paid overtime. We've had a block on overtime for years. That's the problem with this website, too many f**king rumours.steviemac wrote:payroll worked overtime to dock our wages during the strikes remember ........ finding it hard to feel sorry for them

Re: New Pay Deal
Where did you hear that from a mate of a mate probably and certainly not from payroll.steviemac wrote:payroll worked overtime to dock our wages during the strikes remember ........ finding it hard to feel sorry for them
I would think that, having worked in pay in other jobs, it would be automatic and entirely dependant on the CMA Grades. Payroll at a guess process the paperwork (if any) that comes from each office and then sort, or at least attempt to sort out any pay queries that result from Management, processing or human errors.
Almost certainly Royal Mail would not say "All right lads the commies are on strike again, anyone who wants to dock their wages for them can stay behind and get a bit of overtime".
To be blunt please think things through before you believe anything from anyone. The people in payroll are probably on less pay than we are, have worse conditions and don't have 120,000 other people in similar work willing and able to go out in support of them. In fact don't even believe what I have posted here, research it yourself and become more informed, just like we hope and pray that "Daily Mail" readers will do someday when we are in dispute.

Re: New Pay Deal
I suppose that this is the reason that "talks" have stayed secret. If a rumour is released or said,by the time it reaches the 5th person it has been greatly exaggerated. Also,if we did get to monthly pay our wages department would disappear as they would out-source it to a private firm.(One in which would specialise in monthly pay). Our wages department only,or mainly do weekly pay.Not many,(if any) private firms do weekly pay).

Re: New Pay Deal
re comments on wageroll overtime to process strike deductions ,
non attendance Friday and Monday means at the earliest info to wageroll faxed or emailed midday on Monday . leaving Tues and Wed to process D2D payments, overtime and 50,000 strike pay deductions not planned or built into the normal working day.
Certain amount of guesswork involved and maybe i'm wrong so apologies in advance . however, i feel i'm being generous in alllowing Wed as a day to process payments bearing in mind wage slip is printed and sent that day to arrive Thursday and that DOM processed and sent info Monday and not Tues.
If wageroll as a department deny any overtime to process deductions then i salute their work ethic and apologise .... hope i've demonstrated i've thought this through.

Re: New Pay Deal
Well TBH numpty - it won't make any difference whether you worked overtime or not - given a vote to keep your department fully manned or a nice little lump sum for monthly pay - guess where you'd be the following week?NumptyBumpty wrote:You are wrong, we don't get paid overtime. Re: New Pay Deal
I'm not at all happy to see people lose their jobs, it may be a question of going part time, something we are all familiar with in deliveries BUT I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the 2K - there's more chance of me baring my arse in Burtons window - which I will do if there's a 2k lump sum.

jesus wept, dvbuk is right, jobs must be protected at all cost, our terms and conditions were hard fought for over the decades by our brothers and sisters, and it sickens me to read comments on how willing people are to give them away for some very short term gain.
Oh yes if you think you are about to be offered £2000, think again, the maths do not add up.
£2000 times lets say 100,000 equates to 200 million, which is getting close to what the whole group made in profit last year.

People that voted in the P&M agreement of 2007 quickly started whinging and moaning about how the job was changed - funnily enough, it started just after the cash carrot was spent.labbloke wrote:jesus wept, dvbuk is right, jobs must be protected at all cost, our terms and conditions were hard fought for over the decades by our brothers and sisters, and it sickens me to read comments on how willing people are to give them away for some very short term gain.
Cash carrots are transitory, job changes are for the rest of your RM employment.....do you think you can do 5, 10, 20, 50 D2Ds a week, or 4, 5, 6 hr delivery spans, or never become FT ( cos RM have got a 10/90 FT/PT ratio )? If RM pushed through the rubbish they did in '07 for £400 and push through the further rubbish that is rumoured this time for £2k, they must already be thinking of how cheaply they can get us to sell our T&Cs down the river.....and by that time everyone will have become totally disillusioned with the union, no one will be there to negotiate any agreement, it will EA all the way & your only choice will be RM's way or the highway.
I say f*ck that, if RM are offering us the same amount as about 7 weeks of my pay after tax it has to be worth a damn sight more to them than that - the T&Cs pre P&M would see anyone able to retire in pretty good health, the T&Cs post P&M ( I guess ) would see most able to retire in below average health......what will the T&Cs post 2010 show? I dread to think if our fates are left in the hands of myopic, money grabbing union members
[/rant] Breath.....and relax....

Also el_cartero please refrain from starting a new thread especially when there is a current thread already covering the same subject. Thanks.smokerjim wrote:Wait until the proposed deal is published - no point trying to second guess anyoneel_cartero wrote:will it go to £10 or over?
