Sounds dodgy dont it :hmmmm  :no no INBREDING IN ROYAL MAIL HR DEPT?????

I dont like the old school tie way of working a person in to a line of business one bit. RM have always had its (INNER CIRCLE) LIKE GOVERMENTS grey suits. RM now stoop to nepotism?? in the so called open caring (there for us all) (great place to work) Equality a premium??? HR DEPT.. Now let me get this right!! HR should be there among other things, to deal with personnel problems as well To resource the people In the agreed RM & CWU IR FRAMEWORK, (wayforward) SO in my opinion how can anyone in the northern region or anywhere come to that get a fair hearing or TRUST any one from said part of RM when you have Anne McCarthy Northern region HR Director. AND her brother RM GROUP DIRECTOR TONY McCARTHY pulling the strings from the top??? When little sis falls over n scrapes her knee Old Big bro comes along and kisses it better for her?? :no no WHO WILL lil annie have to answer to if she f***s up or gets a complaint against the poor lil lamb????? AHHHHHHHHH!! BIG BRO!!!! Nice :evil/mad So can anyone get to lil annie and get a straight answer or will as most other senior manager or FAT CAT in this case hide behind a army of bullshit and dick head cannon fodder acting and line managers that aint got A REAL job just made up out of a surplus of non worthy managers that never went anywhere that trod the streets of BURSLEM NOW!!! :funneh   :no no   :wave :speak to the hand :evil/mad This post of mine is for all the SCREWS that read this and "report back to there leader" (said in darlek voice) and then for them to think that what thay now do is like taking away a mans right to free speech. And a right to be not HARASSED AND BULLIED in there place of work place. You are a part of this act.. I know 99.9% of the managers aint got a heart or morals so this will fall on deaf ears/eyes. But i feel so angry and sad at this outrage of SACKING A MAN WITH EVIDENCE FROM WITNESSES OUTSIDE RM .. That he never done what RM accuse!!!!!!!! FILTH!!!!!!!! :evil/mad :cry

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

She used to be the HR person for North London, and then North & Central London. I didn't know they were related until after working with both of the them seperately.

The HR dept! There's a few jokers in there still.

Big Tom Melvin was due to retire a while ago so doesn't surprise if he has gone. Interested to know if Jon Millidge is still negotiating with the union (might wanna ask a rep).

HR should represent all employees, though you're right that how can they represent frontline employee's if they are closely tied to area management?

Interested to see if this escalates into a regional walk-out. Keeping my eye on the socialistworker for the latest impartial info :funneh

Are Burslem boys back at work?

Post by F0zziebear »

The last message seemed to suggest they've gone back, but didn't see anything in the news about this. Can someone clarify the situation.

Yes Fozzy the Burslem staff went back today after our six day official action. The office has been stripped of all our personal effects e.g football flags, party photos, newspaper cuttings. This is a futile attempt to make the office a souless, sterile environment.Back in recent history as the dictatorial governments of the likes of Spain,Italy,East Germany and Poland found out, you can remove peoples rights but you can't remove their SPIRIT. :no no

Why have you gone back?

Post by F0zziebear »

Forgive me for missing something.

Only the other day it looked like you were getting regional support?
Why have you gone back?
What's happened to Dave?

As for personal affects. That does sound childish and not something as a former Ops Manager I would do, unless it was inappropriate material.

I hope you haven't lost out on pay for nothing and wish you all the luck

Fozzie, the strike was official and only for 6 days, from thursday last week until wednesday this week, there will probably be another one for 3 days in the next couple of weeks, big Dave has got an apeal on april 3rd, which he has a right to under the conduct code.Hopefully common sense will prevail on RM part.

just need the AMICUS to realise that they are a UNION and stop there managers coming from all over the country, and crossing our CWU OFFICIAL PICKET LINE.

From the Amicus website!

Post by Andy Bentley »

The following extracts are from an article on the Amicus website of 3 July 2006 entitled,

" Royal Mail Postal Managers Reaching breaking point"

"Amicus the union representing managers at Royal Mail (16,000), is warning that many postal managers are reaching breaking point as a result of increasing workloads and staff shortages.
Amicus is having to deal daily with cases of postal managers suffering from stress and bullying and harassment. In an internal audit carried out last year entitled 'Have your say' 25 per cent of postal managers felt they had been bullied or harassed"

During the week long Burslem strike, around 140 managers were brought in to try to deliver mail. They came from as far away as the Isle of Wight and were wined and dined in the North Staffs Hotel and Moathouse Hotel!

So what do we have here then? We have "postal managers" who "suffering from stress and bullying and harassment" are being used to try to undermine a strike of postal workers fighting for the reinstatment of a workers who have not only been "bullied and harassed" but has been sacked!!!

It is a scandal that Amicus leadership are doing nothing to stop this blatent strikebreaking.

To express your anger you can call Amicus national office on 08458504242 or the Stoke branch office covering the Burslem area on 01782 616020 or fax 01782 712556
