Does no-one else remember the Thatcher years?

Sadly, only too well.

Problem is most on here are either too young to remember, or were safely esconced in a nice little Thatcher-proof RM job, or ex-pongoes etc (who are reputed to receive an "I love the Tories" brain-washing session on joining up).

If the less-than-great Blair and Brown years were compared to an itchy red rash, then the Thatcher years would have been a gangrenous flesh wound, and doubtless will be again when Lord Dave gets in.

All the tired old "Blair Brown child poverty bankruptcies bank bail out etc etc" rhetoric will seem pretty tame stuff in a couple of years...

The political parties are all going to shaft us.

They want to create a serf workforce that will generate more profit for owners and more tax for the government.

We will be forced to take working tax credit and we will have to agree to progressive interference in our lives to get it.

if the tories get in you will find they are much worse than labour,in fact they the working class especially trade unions.

That's an interesting point of view given the events of the last 13 years. Inequality at record highs ,child poverty booming despite mountains of noble rhetoric; not one anti union law repealed ,£800 billion of taxpayers money into fatcats pockets overnight and not a soap bubble in place to prevent it happening again. Even the tories would have struggled to pull that lot off. Face facts new labour is now the tory party
