Post by Dreamcatcher »

Well today we have all lost another days pay for no progress, we will then be left in the dark again by the union and then another strike date will be called in 2 weeks time and we will go round in circles pissin in the wind.

WTF are the union doing to resolve this, either take us out and fk the system up completly or update us on why you are fanny about this way

I made progress today if you didn't - I made friends, with people I barely get time to talk to. I built up my self respect, I helped others to come to terms with difficulties they faced and last but not least, I realised that people who share a common goal can achieve anything - and I learnt it all on a picket line.

This is no place for faint hearts or weak resolve - we face unfeeling and uninterested opponents who would destroy a public service built on our and our predecessors efforts. If it takes time - so be it, but we will be here long after our misguided and painfully ignorant leaders have left to ruin other businesses in the pursuit of personal wealth.

Be patient.

There, you see? That's the good old Manchester radical spirit which they tried to kill at Peterloo but which lives on.

Great post comrade!

11 Years ago, as an AG....I went on strike ( My first time in a union or on strike )

8 One day strikes.......

Every week the RM said " Your strike is futile".......

Every strike day, a few more people went back to work....thinking that the strike was going nowhere and they were down on pay.......

Dispite getting behind on the bills / morgage, I stay'd out

I CAN HOLD MY HEAD HIGH.......

YOU CAN TOO....You have not crossed the line....

Even as negotiation after negotiation failed I stayed out....

In the end WE WON....TEAMWORKING was scraped.....and we have ALL benifited....

DON't GIVE UP........

ALAN is Just ONE man

We are many..........

He has always come up against a compliant workforce.....who are reluctantly willing to comply with his Dictatorship....

BUT HE's UP AGAINT POSTAL WORKERS NOW...WE ARE PROUD OF THE SERVICE WE GIVE TO THE PUBLIC.......WE'RE NOT...REPEAT NOT GOING TO LET HIM TURN THE ROYAL MAIL INTO AN ASDA / WALMART TYPE COMPANY ( pile it high....sell it cheap / low pay / low skill workforce who he can domonate and SACK on his whim, Just so the share price can go another 2p higher )

I stood on the picket line today

we had nothing except support from people going by

Free FOOD / DONATIONS £££ / Words of encouragement from the public

HANG IN THERE

AL wont give in without a fight .....

BUT HE WILL GIVE IN......eventualy

Because if we don't win....RM won't be worth working for....they'll pay crap wages for P/t work if they get their way

STAY STRONG

DON'T GIVE UP......
I was sure I'd seen a bead of sweat on my line manager the other day - Until I realised that he had just brushed past me too close

Great post mate!

A bit of Shelley which he wrote after Peterloo:

'Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number -
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you -
Ye are many - they are few.'

if anyone reading this is in doubt about the money side of things think about the goebbels mag said this month rm stated that it wants a competetively paid workforce, they also say that we are 25 per cent overpaid compared with the competition so by my rough working out that makes
annual wage about £16,000 full time not london but for the rest off us
1/4 of that is £4,000
so that makes a full time wage of £12.000 per annum
reduce from that d2d,early start, driving pay etc then either half or 2/3 of that ammount for p/t staff
i know these numbers are not accurate to the pound but at the moment we will be better off financially working 4 days and striking 1 day a week than working 5 days a week under their new business plan and thats without reading meters and issuing parking tickets
maths isnt my strong point and i have nothing to hand to work it out exactly if im wrong please let me know before too many people read this post
