I would imagine a judge would simply say that the circumstances have changed from our first ballot and a re-ballot is necessary.

Judges can do that, I read it in the DTI guide to IA ballots, given all the talking thats taken place and the difference between our top bods and RML top bods has narrowed it does seem likely that a Judge would exercise their power to have a re ballot.

Looking at it from a different angle RM I think may have played a blinder.

Right says Adam I am going in 2010 we need to go for the nuclear options to make sure everything is sorted before I go. I want managers to ratchet up the pressure, particularly in London and Scotland, and have it bubbling under in the rest of the country.

We shall acheieve this by:

Ignoring Phase 4
Implementing a Pay Freeze
Give Managers a bonus and leak it.
Start disciplinary cases when ever possible - this should start a few wild cat walk outs.
Imposing unagreed performance standards.
Bring in Park and Loop in selected offices
Start Pegasus revisions.
Keep reiterating the worst possible reduction in mail levels that we can get away with.
Putting the worst possible spin on future ways of working

Then when the lads go on strike we should be able to get a deal on pensions, stop paying for D2D, reduce the working week (might even go for no paid breaks) and find some use for those cars we bought and are not using.

But we also needed these things to be resolved:
Pensions; D2D;SWW; park and loop.
As long as we get a positive outcome from at least 3 of these issues everything will be hunky dory.

If this happens, what about we start a major campaign to do the job properly. I know we've all said on here about cutting off ect....would the union have the balls to encourage everyone to do the job correctly and start giving us some proper f*****g backing on the shop floor. I mean everyone start working to time. stop using cars. stand up to the bullying. I'm sick of this whole deal saga now. I get the distinct feeling we're about to be stitched up big time.

Good idear ....but unfortunatley a non-starter, been tried before time & time again.............in my office it`s a look after no.1 mentality, which is exactly what R/M are after, sad to say it but i`m in a very weak office apart from a handfull of realist`s.

The rumour-mongers have been working overtime at my office,lots of different ideas on what the deal is,the worst being,both sides have parted company without signing any agreement.I am fully aware that both parties agreed NOT to divulge anything while talks are taking place,so if as was said last Friday in this thread a deal is ALMOST done,just how to word it so both sides are crystal clear on the terms,are they still putting pen to paper or has it all gone "belly up"has a date been fixed to tell the membership of the situation,will the deal have to go to the Postal Exec before us members get to know anything.

Is it fair to keep us(the membership)dangling!!!!!!!!some mighty p155ed of members up and down the country

Their are two aspects to the talks/any set of proposals


1) Changes in the way we get mail from collection point to delivery point

2) Our terms and conditions of employment

Dingo seems to indicate that number 2 is the clincher for a set of proposals to be agreed and put out to vote.

i feel like a mushroom been kept in the dark all the time i think the cwu have done a very bad job with letting us no whats going on with the talks hardley herd a thing from them since the strikes not very good is it.

I don't think the cwu had much choice, Roger poole got both parties to sign a confidentiality agreement.

When the agreement is finally rolled out, the biggest question we need to ask ourselves is " do we want a industry with fulltime jobs or part time?"

Now before all you very opinionated posters begin shouting from the roof tops, lets just get it into our heads that we start at our start times and finish at our finish times - nothing more or nothing less is expected of you ( in my over 20 years experience, it's normally the ones that shout loudest that have the most to lose ).
