All we seem to be hearing about is what the RM are offering us...which in my mind is not beneficial to us at all. So come on union tell us what you think WE want out of this!

I think it may be a bit late as i suspect by now they are having a few drinks to celebrate the 2010 PAY & MODERNISATION MK 2 AGREEMENT. :Applause :cuppa
But this time we have to put up with the crap for 3 years - and all those places who got away with it last time are going to get burned UNLESS dear old RM fail to implement in those areas close to the heart of things - AGAIN! Some areas seem to get more protection than others......... :hmmmm

Dingo you're a poster on here who I respect, even if I dont always agree with you,but c'mon you're scraping the erse out of the barrel with that one. :chuckle
I am at a loss I just tell you the union want new money nothing to do with the hourly it is not linked to the net working week , the union wants people to work less days including less Saturdays , and the union wants to see a cut in the hours you work in the week again nothing to do with the net working week and I am told I am scaping the barrell .

The other benefits is to name a couple is an increase in hourly rate for ED and Sa and an increase in the xmas bonus.

So the union which most of you are part of have a list of benefits most from decisons MADE AT CONFERNECE.

I woudn't get too attached to those 2 saturdays Stormproof,Somebody will have to work more saturdays if the rest of us are working less.
Unless RM plan to increase their saturday only staff but that doesn't suit the predominately full-time staff argument.

The statements made are great sound bites, short week, fewer Saturdays, more benefits, full time jobs for life, masters of your own destiny - all you need to do is negotiate them locally and the world is your oyster :d'oh!

Dingo, I have a question on the above point. It says "remain" full time. Is this a change of emphasis? I thought we were looking to have more part timers made up to full time. what happened to agreed ratios...75% / 25%. I know this point was mentioned as being one of the sticking points to a deal. Is it still the intention to push royal mail to offer progression for part timers to full time? Or have we changed to protecting the current full time positions we already have?

Well that would sound about right for areas, who shall remain nameless, who have a predominantly FT staff BUT for offices like ours with a 60/40 split not so good.

Same here dvbuk. If anything I'd say our office is getting close to a 50 / 50 split. Dingo, Just to make it clear what I'm asking. I am looking to remain in the business and I would like to remain as a full timer (currently I'm part time). Are you saying a current full timer can remain as full time, but a current Part timer will remain as part time with no progression to full time. If this is the case I and a lot of my colleages would find it totally demoralising.

With a fragile economy, a failing business and a pensions black hole, you think RM are really going to offer £2000 for posties to "do their jobs"?

Dreamland DO, for some....
