Done lapsing once since P&M 2007 was implemented.

Was scrapped after a week as people were claiming OT for it.

NOTHING they have brought in down here has worked or stayed in.

Its all been scrapped or thrown out.

Job hasnt changed since RM2000 frames were fitted 6 years ago.

Except the walk sequencing (I asume you were a trial office?) the rest is true although BD reckons it only saves 20 mins as do RM although CWU say 10 mins? And i could lose that going for a p*ss a couple of times and a cup of coffee! To me it comes down to doing your job properly (A POLITICAL JOB I WOULD THINK?) and not worry.

The amount of time walk sequenced mail is going to save depends on how much walk sorted mail you get and your quickness of sorting speed of walksorted mail. Frame size, two dp's or one dp per slot will no doubt have some bearing on speed. I would hope this is taken into account in any new agreement.

I was timed Friday by the sub area delivery rep, 30 items a minute with walk sequenced mail. So I was 5 letters a minute quicker compared to the individual performance standards speed.

It will be interesting to see what CWU and RML agree to as our speed for sorting sequenced mail, pehaps Dingo or the Truth can give some idea as to what sort of figure the CWU would like RML to agree to?

So based on this one single incident and bearing in mind that it can not with an accuracy be extrapolated nationwide it will still only save 10 minutes (roughly of a PT/FT in a hours prep - as our PT are only officially allowed 1 Hours prep anyway its definitely not going to save much indoor time at all per day.

But of course management will look at is if there are 100 in an office that's 100 hours per week or 2 FT posts and 1 20 hour post and this ladies and Gentlemen of RMC is where the danger lies - they will cut posts in offices based on WS and you will be expected to take up the slack.

That may explain the calibre of management we are currently suffering under as a Group.
