Second-class delivery for ITV
Well done, Adam Crozier, on your appointment as ITV's chief executive. Now our main commercial broadcaster has two people in charge (Crozier, and chairman Archie Norman) with absolutely no media experience. Crozier might be brilliant at treacly PR statements littered with jargon about objectives, profit margins and delivery targets, but he's hardly gifted with people skills. During his time running the Royal Mail, it's been crippled by appalling labour relations. My experience of Crozier's wonderful modernisation of the postal service can be summed up as follows. Monday, no post at all. Tuesday, post arrives 1.40pm. Wednesday, post delivered to the pub by mistake. Thursday, post arrives around noon. Friday, post eventually arrives around 1pm. I can't wait to see his impact on television schedules: News at Ten should air around midnight.

Get ready for the axe factor
How the hell do they get these jobs? Part three: Adam Crozier. Having estranged everybody at the Football Association and wrecked Royal Mail — imposing on it the worst industrial relations since Captain Bligh decided his crew had been a bit dilatory when loading the breadfruit — Crozier has been made boss of ITV. Never has a rat scuttled between two sinking ships more frantically. You imagine them on the bridge at good ship ITV, watching the waves lap around the prow and deciding — sod the lifeboats, we need Crozier. He’ll sort it out. Given Crozier’s record at Royal Mail, you can expect to be watching John Nettles and co perform in Late Autumn Murders. If he gets past the picket line.

Sorry you were out; tune in tomorrow
Congratulations Adam Crozier. The Royal Mail boss has just been appointed the new head of ITV.
What does this mean for the broadcaster?
Well it's early days but a reader contacts me with a couple of ideas: "Can we expect him to close down every 'uneconomic' television if there is another set within a one-mile radius, and will he abandon the afternoon delivery of broadcasts, and move the morning schedule to the afternoon?" asks Nick Comfort.
Quite. We await the answer with trepidation.

Ha, wait until people find out, and businesses too, that if, and when, they get their mail, it will be anything between 12 noon, and 5.00pm, before they see their postman. And all due to modernisation, wonderful.Stormproof wrote:http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/co ... 84348.html

From conversations I've had with some, just some, of the customers/small businesses on my round, it's going to be the mother of all lead balloons, that less than bright idea.

Re: Papers on Crozier
That's very true. It makes for curious reading, the comments deriding Crozier on Tory supporting rags like the Daily Wail, and the comments aimed at us during the dispute, made in the very same paper. Or, webshyte , to be more precise.Ricky Bruch wrote:Its all right these papers printing things like this now but they did sod all for us when we went on strike to fight this idiot & his side kicks :lfo :mfo in the last 2 strikes

To be honest you reap what you sow.
All those mugs that bought into the we must modernise at all costs to survive crap, deserve all they get.
When they see the way crazier operates regarding industrial relations, and the total disregard he has for the consumer,
then perhaps they will think back, and regret the ignorance towards our fight. :cfo
