Royal Mail in the Free Market Casino
It's not a free market, it's a rigged market, says Roy Mayall
All of this talk of “the market” makes you wonder.
What market?
Because when you take a close look at it, the market doesn’t exist. There is no market. It turns out to be little more than a propaganda tool used by the privatisation lobby to beat the Royal Mail over the head with.

Re: Royal Mail in the Free Market Casino
I would like to see someone actually measure how many miles a letter travels when it is doing "the final mile".
It might stop the advocates of DSA using lies and euphemisms to promote their own agenda.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

That would be an interesting study. Even my round is a lot more than a mile, let alone how many miles the mail travels from the delivery centres to the offices.

That's a brilliant idea! We need to get some sort of campaign going against these parasites. This one could really work.noggin1969 wrote:How about if people returned their empty DSA mail envolopes to the sender with say "No to DSA keep the post public " writen on it , these items would then need to be surcharged giving RM some much needed cash and pushing the DSA companies out the market

How about a D2D campaign, delivered outside of RM Time. We would reach every household. I do not know whether there would be any legalities in doing this. Any legal whizz kids on the forum.

It would only generate income if the companies bothered paying for the letters. If they didn't we would waste time and money writing out and delivering the cards before paying to have them destroyed in the confidential waste.noggin1969 wrote:How about if people returned their empty DSA mail envolopes to the sender with say "No to DSA keep the post public " writen on it , these items would then need to be surcharged giving RM some much needed cash and pushing the DSA companies out the market

Re: Royal Mail in the Free Market Casino
If we did it in our own time there wouldn't be a problem. I'm talking to some people about setting up a website explaining this idea, with a pdf attachment leaflet you can download and print off as many copies as you like. This is the best idea and I think it would really work. It would give people who support us a way of backing us. I'll write an article with this as a suggestion as well.Lincox wrote:How about a D2D campaign, delivered outside of RM Time. We would reach every household. Re: Royal Mail in the Free Market Casino
I am convinced there is a deal between the govt and the DSA companies and our management and union are sworn to silence about it. Think about it..... If you were UK Mail, TNT or DHL would you spend millions on sorting equipment etc getting involved in a new market unless you were assured that your investment was safe (ie Royal Mail would not be able to compete and would deliver your mail at or below cost)?
And do you remember how smoothly DSA was introduced? We all know that Royal Mail makes a pig's ear of most things but DSA seemed to glide in as smoothly as Adam Crozier into a new job.
We should be boycotting DSA, striking about it and, in every other way conceivable, making the public aware of it.

Interesting idea but if DSA or any other mail comes back saying 'RTS' on it do RM makemoney from sending it backto return address? I thought we handled it for free if it's RTS?

Re: Royal Mail in the Free Market Casino
Mail posted directly into the RM system is RTS for free, but I believe that DSA mail is now segregated and a charge made for returning it to the company involved.opgpat wrote:Interesting idea but if DSA or any other mail comes back saying 'RTS' on it do RM makemoney from sending it backto return address? Perhaps a PHG or Manager who deals with RTS mail, can confirm this?
