The members at my D.O are rather puzzled as to why they were bombarded with literature before and during the IA but now its silence.

They certainly dont like the idea of HCT and CDV/Park and Loop and certainly dont want Job and finish to end!!!

Obviously if you finish at 11.30 you don't want job and knock to end.
From what you have said about your DO already, your members are going to amongst the unhappiest people in RM.
The rest of us have had a lot of this s**t for a while now.
Still you might get to keep your bikes.

Someone asked me today if the revision was finished and I said the revision can't take place until the agreement has been balloted on and we know the delivery span, the D2D problem solved, and how many hours a week we are working - and he said - are they still going on about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im amazed how many colleagues at my DO show no interest in what's going on re: the agreement

whinge like fook they will when push comes to shove

the whole "dont talk to me about work away from work" brigade!!!!

They will wake up rather suddenly when this agreement and what comes with it finally hits them.
Of course by then it will be way too late for "whinging like fook".

Out of about 70 of us,

5 or 6 care passionately

6 or 7 ask now and again whats going on ( as if i know ) cos they know i check this board regular

so that leaves 50 odd who couldnt give a toss (yet)

what narrks me though is the majority have access to internet but cant peel themselves away from facebook

but i gotta ask myself this question.........

Political Officer and local rep two different roles. You seem to be muddling them up. A branch political officer has no say on IR issues or attend IR meetings.

You may wish to check the rule book for Political officer as it does not match up with what you describe.

It is Labour party liasion work along with keeping track of whats going on in the political arena that may be of interest to the CWU branch and its members.

In fact if you looked at the job description one could be forgiven for thinking the job title was Labour party liasion officer and not political officer.

If you think the role of political officer should be expanded, then Im sure that would make for a very interesting debate and you will get no argument from me that the role as laid out in the rule book should be expanded. The question is what exactly should be added to the rule book.

And now linkin I am goin to follow the rule book and invite you to join the Labour Party, as that is a offical part of the role.
