ok here goes i started work with royalmail 2 weeks ago and cannot belive what iv seen, some rounds not going out for 3-4 days, overweight parcels been in office for 10 days + loads of these sent 1st class recorded,
no proper traning ie our second day on the job out on our own not knowing how to do the round, not knowing what we are doing 1 day to the next, being asked to run round the delivery so we can complete, ask about special delivery getting them there by 10clock being told not to worry about them just get them there when we can, being asked to use our cars on delivery so they dont have to worry about drop bags,
That is a bad start they don't start that sort of thing in my DO till you have your feet under the table.

garry6677 wrote:what is the point of the union if royal mail is like this? the 2 other guys who started with me have allready quit lasted 1 week.
The Union can only advise people what their rights are and help defend them if management go too far. My advice would be check with your rep, or Area Rep to make sure eveything is OK - its not but it should help you get backed up if things go really wrong. BTW have you joined.
no have not joined the union and wont, the union rep at this office came into work when you had those strikes last nov, this is my opinion but if your the union rep you shold support your union and not scab in fact if you belong to the union you should not scab at all.
garry6677 wrote:so is this what it is like at every office or am i just unlucky?
No what you mention goes in in every office and is usually down to mismanagement and the pursuit of bonuses and profits (neither of whoch we share in  )

BTW Welcome (On and I moved this into Blue Shirts as this is the are of the business you are in and it should get more replies as well.)
