Hi guys, i've been diognosed with a condition which needs further investigation at the hospital. Now my condition falls under the DDA according to atos.
Does any agreement exist about time off for hospital visits. Will i have to book a days holiday?
My second question is about my delivery. atos said i need access to toilets when doing outside duties. How do i stand on this, eg: can they say the local dentist or pub is okay or do i get a say?

If you are covered by the DDA and your hospital appointment is because of this condition, then you are entitled to time off to go. Any time off you need or have, because of a condition covered by the DDA does not count against you, as it comes under "reasonable adjustment" so my union rep informs me

As for needing a loo out on delivery you should have some where already its a right not just a item they might think about putting on as an after thought,if you have a medical condition then your manager should be doing all he/she can to help or assist, use all that is available to you to help you through.

Thanks for the feedback. just that we're going through an entire repick soon. I just don't want to be stitched up by management when it comes to my pick.

Yeah bet he didn`t say that you also have to be registered with Royal Mail`s Disability Helpline Department as well otherwise they won`t recognise you suddenly telling them hey I`m covered under the DDA.gj1023 wrote:If you are covered by the DDA and your hospital appointment is because of this condition, then you are entitled to time off to go. Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Otherwise half the Post Office would be doing it.
Nope he did not , words would never be enough for anyone, proof is obviously needed. I came in with my letter, from the Hospital confirming my condition , which is covered by the DDA and that was enough for my Dom . Never heard of " Royal Mail`s Disability Helpline Department "
