How is a NO vote doomed to fail?
They'll then have to go back to the table and come back with something more suitable, especially if its a huge percentage vote NO.

The trouble is that the "comments on here" are probably not representative of a majority of workers.I don't know about you but although we got a 95% strike in our office it was hard work.Listening to people now I think the fight has gone.mclovin wrote:And judging by the many many comments on here that just isnt going to happen.
So prepare for going on strike again, as we always knew we would be anyway.

It is precisely because we will be isolated in little pockets that we will have to revert to "guerrilla" tactics as opposed to conventional industrial warfare (strike action). We need unity in those isolated pockets.
It may well be doomed to failure - but so is a no vote.
These "guerrilla tactics" should already be present in all offices and has nothing to do with whether we return a yes vote or not.
It's called "doing the job properly" and is very effective in combating many of RMs more ridiculous policies.
IF you can create that elusive unity you speak of.

Re: THERE IS NO AGREEMENT UNLESS WE VOTE YES
asked my rep about guerilla tactics in my office,he said it was too hard to organise (!) but he is blind faithful to whatever the headsheds in the CWU say,& most of the office follow him like sheep cos they don't want to be black balled,i personally think that the CWU has lost touch,it had the golden chance to state its case after the Panorama item,i am fearful of the future & i think we are on our own

They would come back with the same s**t with a different name.mclovin wrote:How is a NO vote doomed to fail?

Due to the current political and economic climate the CWU cannot deliver.
We can and should rebuild the CWU from the grassroots.
Call it guerrrilla warfare, call it doing the job properly call it what you like we must try and protect ourselves on the ground.No-one else will do it for us and it's no good bleating like lost sheep.
If they want to attack our conditions they must expect the mother of all battles.
Wherever and whenever they attack, WE must fight back.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Surely the bottom line is Postcomm?? I really cant see how anything RM have brought in has benefitted the customer, if anything their service has slowly declined since SDD.

Nice idea in theory however Postcom are part of the problem and not the solution.mclovin wrote:Surely the bottom line is Postcomm?? I really cant see how anything RM have brought in has benefitted the customer, if anything their service has slowly declined since SDD.
Postcom as a body have vested interests see http://www.psc.gov.uk/about-postcomm/co ... erest.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Their main reason for being around is to introduce competition so their focus is more towards the senders rather than the receivers.
The only consumer focused group is Postwatch but they are fairly ineffectual as they only tend to deal with individual complaints and part of their recommendations is that if you have a problem you should exhaust the RM internal procedures before they start acting as an ombudsmen.

robd wrote:i'm not suggesting i'm happy with what's been leaked so far,and on the lttle i've heard,it's not something i could vote yes to,you'll never get everything you want or please everyone, but it's worth remembering a vast majority of people voted for strike action because conditions had become intolerable, have the union recognised and addressed these issues?
it's all very well saying the union will do as we say,but ironically they do as RM tell them, otherwise we wouldn't be in this mess.
remember the CWU has it own agenda,
i'm voting for a pay rise not a pay freeze
i'm voting for dignity and respect at work
i'm voting for a decent pension when i retire
it will be interesting to see if they can deliver on any of them,if the union are saying we want a SWW but in return you must work longer on a saturday,it really means no amount of strikes will alter the position/workplan.
harsh as it may sound, the reality is we will be forced to accept change, under the auspices of modernisation,or move on.
sorry for missing the point, can someone make a list of everything that has been leaked,
1 / 2 grand ?
2 / later deliveries
3 / later sat delivery
4 / what else
and were s all these coming from,
these are worrying times for us all. without rumours,
