Only if you live north of Watford.

I have heard a rumour that Managers were called to a meeting on Monday - yes the Monday just gone, where they were told that it is a done deal. now I have no reason to distrust the person who told me,nor would I say it is necessarily true, but there does seem to be a lot of rumour of content going around. If there is agreement on Friday I'll just bet it will be announced at 5 pm.

It was tuesday up here.Same circumstances.I suspect as you do that the agreement is already installed on management laptops up and down the country.

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

The way I heard it, the managers were given the programme for the roll out of the agreement, which may not be the whole agreement , just those salient points needed for forward planning for revisions. Either way it presumes that the agreement will go ahead and be ratified by ballot - OR as usual they don't give a toss and will go ahead anyway.

So the concensus of opinion seems to be the recommendation will be "accept this Cos we know more than you ,but we ain't going to tell you what we know cos knowledge is power ,and we love it,and what"s more ,suffering is good for your soul"Bit like last time then, somebody always knows best even when they've always been wrong.Told you so once, told you so twice ,bored now just you carry on and cut our throats again

How do you know the agreement is pants you dont know whats in it. In any case there is no agreement as yet albeit the talks have moved to residential stay in an hotel in the South of the country to attempt to meet the deadline of the 22nd.

Stop believing all the rumours on here, the agreement if one will be reached will be very detailed in its contents on all aspects and there will be agreed guidelines, so until you read it all no one should be either supporting or slaging off whats in it.

Who knows it may even surprise some on here in the right way.

interesting choice of words. are we to assume that there will be another extension to deadline?. perhaps we could keep movin the deadline towards april and then any pay rise could form part of the final agreement. packaged to look like a financial incentive of course.

No all parties are committed to reaching an agreement this week , however some of the big ticket issues still remain unresolved but they are all staying in an hotel in nice little university city in the south of the country determind to work through the night to crack one. But and there is always a but it must be the right agreement.

With regards to the delivery event in Harrogate every Royal Mail region is having the same event their is one in Southampton today and tomorrow and in London on Monday and Tuesday. Divisional reps and other reps have been ivited but its not based on the deal as there is not one it is more designed about the new workplan and protential effects of walk seqeuncing.

What's the point in managers talking about the new workplan if a deal hasn't been reached yet then? Surely they don't know the new workplan - same as us

Well I don't want to appear negative, but even the truth will probably agree, the workplan is the workplan Royal Mail have devised for the future of the company and the CWU haven't got a say on what the workplan will be, whether it be park and loop, HCTs, trolleys, sequencing machines et seq. The role of the union is to ensure that the roll out of that program is safe, fair and has safeguards for the members coupled with a suitable reward built in to an agreement for that roll out. What worries me is that they perhaps have a tendency to concern themselves with what Royal Mail want without thinking enough about what we want and more germane what is physically possible. We do not want an agreement that looks good at face value but is unworkable in the real world.

Whether or not they have succeeded will no doubt be shown in due course and maybe tomorrow, after all it is a Friday and people will want to be toddling off home to their families, but lets hope they aren't in too much of a rush and forget to dot the i's and cross the t's like they did in 2007 and then have to spend another month selling it to the members.

All managers emailed today and told not to share DVD with staff until agreement published.

So how the F*** could they produce a dvd which must take some time, BEFORE agreement is reached unless they expect the Union to roll over.

Well it has to be put to the members and I'll vote no on pricipal.

On the streets til 3 o clock EVERY day, no effing chance.

Your spot on, Dave Ward and co have all along talked about change by agreement rather than stopping change, I dont think CWU top brass have made that clear enough to the membership.

Change by agreement is fine but when you enter the negotiation phase you must at least have an idea of your,or more importantly your memberships limits.
You MUST have a line in the sand,i'm sure RM did.
I'm pretty sure the CWU did not.
It will be interesting to hear the rhetoric and "war stories" about what excesses RM really wanted and what concessions the CWU "won". ;liar
