Take a FT on longs and shorts who does a 9 hour day on the long days but IPS last 75 mins max and the delivery work is hardly any different.

1 hour 35 mins plus the 6 is 7 hours 35 mins leaving a 85 min discrepancy.

Not enough indoor work to fill out a 9 hour day. Perhaps that was the RML plan with longs and shorts? :hmmmm

Then the reason for the discrepency in your office is your IPS is overmanned.
I would consider yourself lucky to be in this position, not many offices are.
This is not a full-time/Part-time equality issue but a management workplan issue.
Not the fault of the full-time staff.

That I would agree with you on fishtank, its occured due to a big increase in letter mail being walksorted compared to 2004 when we took out nights. We have 4 less IPS duties now as well.

2004 upon SDD coming in 29 duties scheduled to do IPS, now its 26 duties and IPS finishes earlier than ever before.

Less mail in Letter IPS frame and at least a box more Walksorted mail for each delivery compared to 2004.

Although back in 2004 when the 5 day week came along we gave IPS to some rural duties and no extra delivery work, now in 2010 we dont actually need those rurals on the IPS anymore. Back on the old 6 day week no rurals did IPS, so i need to find a way to revert back to that. Im sure the talks will produce something that I can use.

Can some one explain this meal releif thing to me.

At present we get 40 min a day paid.

Are we to vote to say we dont want meal releifs, how will we make any time as we still have to wait for misorts.

Surley the deilvery side should be balloted on issues that affect us and Mail staff ballot on issues concerning them.

Only if you live north of Watford.

I have heard a rumour that Managers were called to a meeting on Monday - yes the Monday just gone, where they were told that it is a done deal. now I have no reason to distrust the person who told me,nor would I say it is necessarily true, but there does seem to be a lot of rumour of content going around. If there is agreement on Friday I'll just bet it will be announced at 5 pm.

Odd that - that is exactly where the North West managers went on Monday.................... Now perhaps THE TRUTH will set our minds at rest and assure us that the confidentiality of the meetings in London by the negotiators are in fact still confidential - perhaps there is to be a two part agreement, like the interim agreement.

I did hear that there was to be a meeting in Mancester on Sunday but I'm not entirely sure that I didn't dream that. There is also a meeting of Reps on Friday in this area so we could be in for some news come Friday tea time.
