There seems to be some confusion on the board and some of you are worried, due to Management regarding 'Work To Rule'.
IT IS NOT WTR.
Although mentioned by a lot on here including me it is not WTR it is just easier to say that rather than.....
Its all about the 318, (working to the rules laid down by RM,The Union & Health & Safety)

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

i'm not paid enough to deliver letters let alone make serious managment decisions.it's not a question of what we would do,we are not employed to make those decisions.DOM wrote:What makes you think anyone else running the business would do anything differently?dave-on-the-green wrote:lets have some respect for people.this is my first strike ever.the main issue here is those two gits at the top .we want them out,and we must not focus away from that.i am so mad with them, gits. we must stick together
I ask you all what would you do differently if you were in charge?
what makes you think anyone else running the buisiness would not do it differently.

From now on I'll only refer to it as working to 318, though I can't see any difference whatsoever between the 2.

I was gonna make a long winded post to you DOM about this and that ectSparksy wrote:DOM, do you seriously believe that Royal Mail workers are treated with the respect they deserve?DOM wrote:In what way are they treating you disrespectfully?
But i'll make it short and sweet.....
READ THE FORUMS IN HERE not just about the strike stuff, but our working lives in general
and then perhaps you won't be asking these questions.
Because your question above really takes the biscuit,or do you work on a desert island or summin.

I take your point. The wording of certain subjects can be very important in todays world. Just look at all of Leighton & Crozier's propaganda! Goebbels would be proud!L Tommo wrote:Sparksy mate.. Its as plain as Me supporting Spurs And you supporting your lot....

Got to agree with you there as most of my office are still coming in early, using their cars, etc...however I do feel we have to make a stand against not only the insulting pay 'rise' but also, and more importantly amongst Postal workers but little reported to the public, all the strings they want to attach.Cybitech wrote:I've actuallt been on rural deliveries for the past 7 years and town deliveries for 3 before that.
The problem is that not enough people do work to rule to make any difference to the mail, you know, come back to time, start next day from where you finished the day before, seat belts on all the time, walk up and down paths, instead of cutting accross gardens, just simple things like that would have much more impact than any of the other tried and tested methods.
I don't know what other office's experiences with 'bonus schemes' are. but we, in a small office (of around 30) have seen little of anything of any bonuses even though we haven't missed a target for as long as I can remember (okay, maybe that's only 2 weeks ago, but that aside...
Royal Mail seem to be digging their heels in. We must stand together or fall as one....cliche, maybe, but I don't really care!
:lfo :cfo
PS. s**t!!! There was loads of replies to this thread as I wrote this.....
