From my experience of dealing with union officials I find what Lateagain says believable.

I have read all of Lateagain's posts and he comes across as someone who is genuinely concerned about what is happening to his job. I don't think he has written anything to warrant the mistrust shown to him.

This thread looks bad. It looks like a union member has made a complaint and union officials are closing ranks to attack him by inferring he is lying. At the same time, the officials are behaving like Napoleon's dogs and attacking anyone who supports Lateagain.

Link i thought of offering options to the person in question was the right thing to do at the time,if they needed representation they were aware i was approachable and what measures i would give to them.

To be honest now that the dust a settled and a few months has past since that incident if they needed representation i would more than happily help them as much as i could.
At the time of my decision i was very stressed out due to meetings with senior management from cardiff and union officals then the daily hassle i was getting from the staff due to this persons actions.I suppose it was just a knee jerk reaction.

Looking at the whole R/M situation is it too much to ask for the members to toe the line it is not he place of a union offical to dictate to people but advise them of the consequences of there actions and the implications it will have on there office at a later date.

I think your perception of this thread is coloured by your opinion of the union.If you read my posts you will realise i am no union apologist.My take on the original post was that it appeared unlikely that an area rep would behave in such a way but as my reply stated i will keep an open mind.
I stand by this opinion.
