This was my email to them!!

Hi,
I'd just like to say....go on blame us posties again!! It's always our fault isn't it, always us who's not doing our jobs properly!! Not the fact that people just don't answer the door although we knock and then knock again whist writing the card out only to get down the road and then they come chasing after us saying they never heard the knock or they were upstairs or out in the garden any excuse will do!! But yeah you just go ahead and blame us like always!! Don't blame the government for running Royal Mail into the ground, don't even blame the managers for piling more and more work on us....no just blame us posties - the foot soldiers who provide you with a service 6 days a week 52 weeks a year - even through all the treacherous weather we have had we still manage to get the mail to your door! The snow brought the country to a standstill but your reliable postie was still out there delivering your mail! But as I said don't worry about giving us bad press we are getting pretty used to it!

Must be bad - interviewed me during the strikes last year!
I made the point about postMEN in my email to GMTV. Funny, when I was chatting to the reporter last year he said their target audience was 'housewives'. Then I got recognised by a women on a fruit and veg stall in the market....
Why don't they attack the b******ds who legally nicked most of our bloody pensions by not paying in? Or MPs who claim more in expenses than we earn... and don't support us when we fund their party? :evil/mad :evil/mad

They're spineless. GMTV have probably got investemnts that will profit from a demoralised RM workforce.
Note to GMTV: Try investigating the reasons behind the lack of time to wait for a door to be answered.

TBH I think this makes you sound like a wierd, conspiracy-theory crank.
Posties (apparently) leave 739 cards without attempting to deliver packets and it's the government's fault?
Firstly I have never done it and I don't know a postie who has. (Don't get me started on drivers)
Secondly the public aren't going to get past "the postie is a useless lazy bastard".They aren't going to buy into your conspiracy theory.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I agree with Roy Mayall.

He doesn't look like a conspiracy theorist, he has good arguments that can be backed up by facts. Only the most naive person would believe that this government does not use deception to get what it wants.

Granted that GMTV viewers probably don't question what they are told, it doesn't mean that people who want to use their brains should censor themselves in case they are accused of being a conspiracy theorist.

There seems to be a reluctance from the union to get the truth out to the public, i.e. that Labour MEPs helped push through the European Postal directive that made privatising Royal Mail inevitable. I can understand how embarrassing this must be for a union that gives so much support to the Labour Party.

Good point about Labour MEP's , however what we got was not what they voted for.

They did not vote for the market to be opened up early but voted for all countries to move forward at the same time at the same pace so as to prevent unfair advantages being gained.

How much revenue has been lost because of Postcomm which describes itself as a non ministerial GOVERNMENT department chose to/was allowed to ignore the policy voted in and agreeed by our democratically elected representatives.

I agree that Postcomm are c***s. They are self serving cronies of spiv Mandelson

Nevertheless, scapegoating doesn't work in this case. The Labour MEPs knew what they were getting into. I don't believe there is any interpretation of the EU Postal directive that does not make privatisation inevitable.

If the Labour Party cannot stand up to Mandelson, they don't deserve to be supported.

Ok, as this is now so far off topic - does anyone know when GMTV might try their hatchet job on us? Not bothered really, if the telly's on at work, it's either BBC or Sky Sports News

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Looks like they picked a bad time - everyone I spoke to last week thought we're heroes for struggling through the snow, even if we missed a delivery or only done half! :Very Happy

how many times have you delivered a revenue surcharge card , for items we legitimately do not carry, only to be chased down the road,or have customers ringing up complaining

If I had a pound coin......................

Today I had someone chase me down the road with a notice left, from Parcel Force. Um, no, I do NOT have your packet!
