A first class postie came to the aid of a woman stuck in the snow.
Domestic helper Pauline Whitney, of Dunlin Road, Hemel Hempstead, got her car stuck on her way to work on Tuesday at around 9.15am.
Stranded on a hill on Jupiter Drive, the mum-of-two left her car for a couple of hours before returning to see if the snow had cleared at all.
When she saw it hadn't, she flagged down a local postie who she knows only as 'Steve', and he came to her rescue.
"I think he was very brave and he didn't hesitate" said the 62 year old.
"He could have just walked on but he came and got in the car."
The postie, who took time from doing his morning rounds to help Mrs Whitney, managed to reverse the car back onto the main road.
He refused to take any money from a grateful Mrs Whitney:
"I went to give him money for a drink and he wouldn't take it" she added.
"I want to thank him it was much appreciated. He didn't have to stop."
