Here's a letter of thanks to post workers

As a committed letter-writer for years, particularly because I have often been a distance from family and friends, I have always considered The Royal Mail sacrosanct.

I happily drop my letters into the post box with total trust that they will arrive at their destination. Over the years I have posted dozens of parcels which also have all been successfully delivered.

After recent criticism of the Royal Mail I would just like to say thanks to the postmen.

They regularly tramp through all kinds of weather to deliver all kinds of envelopes though all kinds of letterboxes and, of course, we must not forget those who deliver the parcels in their little red vans. I simply hope that in this inclement weather the 'foot patrol' are not still expected to walk at that ridiculous four miles an hour!

Wishing all our loyal postmen a Happy New Year.

JOAN PARKER

Belfast

Thankyou for your support of all post people who have weathered the storms since before christmas. However, whilst we have done our job in these horrendous conditions, we receive not a thanks from RM, the occasional mark of respect from some thoughtful managers, who however have continued to earn large bonuses for cutting back your services to such an extent, that the coming year is going to break the most hardy of us foot soldiers.

We got a letter of thanks from our Area gaffers today - would have gone down well if they had bothered to address it personally or got the DOM to do so but No - they sent a Generic photocopied one and left it on the frames . :no no :no no

I must be good though I got 2 :left: :left:

You're my hero :whistle :chuckle :chuckle

We got sweet FA, no thanks, no letter, no 'hotpots' not even acknowledgement that it was a little bit difficult but we did get (what I took to be a veiled threat) not to go anywhere that we thought we'd get stuck.

Same here.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?
