Now at 2 strikes, £120 gone from the wage packets of Royal Mail staff, quite a few large busniesses moving to the competitors for a more reliable service.

Tell me, how can the union justify the staff losing approx £60 per strike day, and killing the business in the process ? Whats it for ? some extra littlepittance on top of what we get at the moment ? Where's the sense in it ? Surely it would be best to work to rule, rather than shoot ourselves in the foot, and killing the business ?

I agree working to rule would crush Royal mail, it has been brought up at many meetings but never followed through.
You tell me how to 90% enforce it like the strike action did and we could all do it

If the union members can go on strike without thinking twice about it, then why don't they feel like they can work to rule ? By doing so, it would hit Royal Mail very hard. I'm all for working to rule, bring it on guys, to be honest if the Union balloted for work to rule instead of strike, i bet they'd get a much higher response, and also more people willing to participate.

A lot of RM workers are working to rule and as the strikes go on and the workload increases I can see more doing so.

Do you work for Royal Mail? If so, what do you do? You seem very ignorant and/or blinkered on certain matters.

I've actuallt been on rural deliveries for the past 7 years and town deliveries for 3 before that.

The problem is that not enough people do work to rule to make any difference to the mail, you know, come back to time, start next day from where you finished the day before, seat belts on all the time, walk up and down paths, instead of cutting accross gardens, just simple things like that would have much more impact than any of the other tried and tested methods.
