GMTV attacking postal workers?
GMTV have started a campaign denigrating postal workers.
As it says on their website:
"Has your postman put a 'while you were out card' through your letterbox when you were at home? Email us your stories
Do you have a gripe with your postal service? Have you ever received a "while you were out card" notifying you of a package, even though you were in the house at the time?
We're looking for people to take part in an investigation to discover how good their postmen are."
Here is the link if you want to reply on behalf of us hard-pressed posties:

I've contacted them and pointed them to this thread, give them examples like mine below that i posted in a previous thread.

One place, done the knocking thing, saw the spy hole went dark as if someone's behind it,then went light again,so waited, knocked again, nothing, thought feck this, wrote a card and scarpered.
Another one, which was today, knocked on the door and someone looked out from a side window, waited, knocked again, nothing, wrote a card and scarpered.
Another one, knocked, nothing,as writing card knocked again,as putting card through door saw someone behind it,waited, nothing, thought again feck this and scarpered, bout 20 mins later going back to my van some dude comes out of the house waving the card, but was someone different because of the clothes he's wearing, says he's just got in and found the card,i said you're having a laugh as someones in there as i saw them, looks at me with a blank face.
Want more?,knocked, nothing, write card and knock again at the same time, nothing,go,coming back down the other side of the road 10 mins later bird comes out waving the card,i said i knocked, she said i know i asked who is it and you didn't answer, ffs!
I'm spoiling you aint i,want another, knocked AND rung bell nothing, done them again, nothing, writing card and had to move to a ledge, saw through the widow some bird doing her hoovering, knocked on window (scared the s**t out of her) and waved packet.
One more, knocked, you know the rest, some bird chases me down the road, sorry i was on the phone.
Oh,and had loads of the underpaid ones, parcelforce and courier ones.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I think maybe some of the executives at GMTV have shares in private mail companies.

Re: GMTV attacking postal workers?
This is what I've just posted:
Shame on you GMTV, attacking the victims rather than those who are really responsible. The Royal Mail is being run down by the Government to make it ripe for privatisation. Postal workers are under extreme pressure, too much work, not enough time to do it in. It's not our fault that things are going wrong: it is the management and government who are behind this. Private mail companies use the Royal Mail network in order to extract profits. Every letter sent by a private mail company and delivered by a Royal Mail postal worker costs the Royal Mail 2p. With a regulatory system like this the business is bound to fail. Do some proper investigation for a change and stop repeating old stories. Check out who is on the board of Postcomm and you'll see: they all have interests in private mail companies. These people were appointed by government, so it's the government who are behind it.

But I have put P739s through peoples doors only for them to chase me down the road waving the card wanting their packet even though they didn't come to the door at the time

What about all those who cant find the key to the front door and your standing there for 5 minutes and they dont come back so you have to card them.

Happened to me as well. I was the one that got a tirade of abuse from a customer because I rang the doorbell and dared to ALSO knock.DGP1 wrote:And it wasn't even me for a changeTrueBlueTerrier wrote:Sorry had to delete move some posts on here as it is possible that GMTV may visit. Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

How pathetic, they must be desperate for something to whinge about, glad I'm too busy working to be able to watch this kind of shite TV!
As for cards - how about other companies, had a guy chasing me down the road the other day asking if I dropped a card through his door, not RM I said, good old private companies that do a better job than us
