Its about time D2D were incorporated into the workload.

It would make pay more simple.
It would remove the eternal question of whether you do them in your own time.
It would ensure 100% call rate every day and make pegasus unworkable.
It would ensure the floating duties did them too.
It would take ages to prep and force me to cut off more.
My basic pensionable pay would increase.

All for it.

It would remove the eternal question of whether you do them in your own time.

POSTMAN wrote:Guys, yes they are a pain, but what company in the world would pay you EXTRA to do something you already do,that's like bus drivers getting extra because they pick up the kids on the school run.

So what do we do,tell RM to give it to our competitors, tell RM we don't want to work, tell RM to slash their profits, tell RM we don't want a job!

If D2D goes, then a lot of us will go with it as well.................could be you!
We already deliver TNT leaflets, look at the boxes that they come in.

So TNT are making something out of it, Then Royal Mail are making something out of it, yet we are still being paid the same rate from a decade ago!

If it makes us fill our time fine. Increase then amount we have, I for one don't have time to prep the ones I have during my time in the DO. If Time is allowed No probs. We have a senior men, an assistant Rep who takes his home with him to prep, then moans about everyone and everything else in the DO.

Often you hear the same bogus argument about d2d
that your delivering to that address anyway so your not working any harder!
utter nonsense they are usually printed in all different sizes on the lightest weight of paper
and that they are not stiff enough to push through a draft excluder without crumpling up.
and this means you have think about every drop

They are of course not numbered and yet they obscure your view of addressed mail
making it harder to follow your numbering as you check your bundles.

If you double the number of d2d you increase the prep time and you double the weight.
already d2d,s add at least two pouches to my weekly load that would then
be four.
I'm a postman-and i know where you live.....

Show me an MP or a Banker or a city trader who hasn't had a pay rise for 13 years and has had his workload doubled to boot, then I might consider these D2D proposals.
Second thoughts, no I wouldn't ,cos that would make me a stupid cnut too :hmmmm

Captain Scarlet wrote:Have heard that d2d may be bundled like in some sort of bag so if it was 7/8/9 it would end up like a small packet for every door

If it was 1 per day over 6 days, is the floater going to do one day on each of the walks they cover?? we got some lazy barstewards who don't do them cos they are floaters
This doesnt make sense it would cost more to put them all in bags surely its easier to put them in a frame than a bag unless they have a supply of elves that come in and do it for free.think about it .

Pegman wrote:They are a good boost to a PT's wage packet, as long as you are able to put all six in the frame on Monday to spread the weight over the week I can't see a problem and would welcome the extra cash, my missus is being made redundant at the end of Feb.

You won't be able to do that.
D2D is going into workload so you will prep and deliver 20% per day as you are supposed to now.
If you prep them all on monday you will leave yourself open for an increase in indoor workload tue-sat.
When this comes in it must be impressed on members that you DO NOT prep these during your own time.
Otherwise we will be cutting our own throats again.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

D2D will not create 100% call rates either. I've tried with that proposal in a letter to RM bosses! It would create stability with our outdoor work. If you go to every house every day then outdoor workload would be almost set in stone. It would also increase delivery spans making a 3.5 hour delivery into a four-hour one. Of course RM refused as they would see no benefit in terms of efficiency as we would not be adding extra delivery points through absorbtion. So they declined that proposal! What they want is still 20%/day so they can claim stupid call rates that actually don't exist/make a difference in the real world! But to pegasus they do!! What we will get is D2D included into our indoor workload. More time on prep which will be a good in the long run! Lets all wait and see whats in the agreement! If there is one!
