Hear hear, i havent missed a delivery either, just had to take more time and be more careful, too many people use any excuse and cant wait to quote health and safety to you, if i was to listen to them i would never leave the office even on a sunny day incase sun blinded me and i didnt see car that would inevitably knock me over.

Sorry but as its not the Posties who make the decision on whether or not to send deliveries out but Management this is a pointless and circular argument.

Posties can make an individual decision not to deliver to single addresses or roads if they believe their H&S may be at risk. At my DO we have been set out every day but the DOM and Lineos have been OK if we bring back mail correctly endorsed if we think it was dangerous to deliver.

Obviously dounome has assessed each delivery point as acceptable and therefore has delivered. Another Limey cannot decide not to deliver for 7 days that's a management decision for which they have to answer to to their own manager.

So to be blunt stop arguing and sniping at each other there are other more important issues to get our teeth into.

I have been a walking postman for 21 years, I have worked fulltime since i left school on friday and started a job on the monday, I am not workshy as you put it, I am very good at my job and work hard, i will not however put my job at risk while the managers sit in the office eating Greggs and chating the DOM support up, Mkay?

BTW. When sombody uses equipment that has not been risk assessed and has no safe systems of work in place, their initiative is not questioned - its their stupidity thats confirmed.

You speak the truth TBT. My office is the same, its down to individuals to decide if a delivery is safe or not. However forlock tugging morons who try to set themselves up as being better than others just because they are willing to take a risk boil my piss.
