FORMER Scotland goalkeeper David Harvey is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack.
The 61-year-old father-of-seven, now a postman on the Orkney island of Sanday, fell ill on Christmas Eve.
He was flown off the island by air ambulance and has been getting treatment and undergoing tests at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
His wife June has been by his bedside.
Speaking from the family home, daughter Heather said last night: "My dad's doing all right now.
"He's feeling and looking a lot better and hopefully he'll be out in a few days. But you can't fly for six weeks after having a heart attack so we're not sure what the plan is."
David and June now face a car and ferry journey home.
He is the only Scottish goalie to have kept a clean sheet against Brazil.
The Leeds United player starred in the 0-0 draw at the 1974 World Cup when Scotland returned home after the first group stage despite being unbeaten in three matches.
Harvey was voted the best goalkeeper in the tournament in Germany.
Leeds-born Harvey won the FA Cup in 1972 and the English league in 1974 with United. He retired from football in 1995.
