Seems like a Terrorist search! Mrs is a Nurse, 26yrs service, say's she thinks it disgusting attitude/approach to an injury victim. Totally uncalled for/unprofessional. Could you sue for Sexual Harrassment? If they searched under my trousers, then they'd find a WMD! Well...maybe not in this cold weather.

This is totally unacceptable. You should see your Rep as soon as possible and make a complaint and put it in writing. There is a case for, if not bullying, then certainly harassment. You post as if you are upset and concerned about the way you have been treated and quite rightly so. You know in your own mind that what happened was not the correct procedure.

It's abuse of power and so comes under bullying and harassment.
A superior misuses their power in order to humiliate a sub-ordinate (did you feel humiliated?), it could become a serious issue for the manager. The manager may deny it happened so you must convince RM it did, you have to show RM how upset it made you. Shame you haven't any witnesses, imagine what would have happened if it was a male DOM that made you do it, why should a woman DOM be allowed to get away with, they should both be equal under the guiding principles of the conduct code.

I wouldn't use the B&H procedure, they have it sewn up and it has a nasty sting in its tail, namely "allegations made in bad faith.

My advice is to raise a grievance using the least amount of words that get your point across. Politely refuse to attend any meetings and insist on receiving written outcomes.

In this case, you can start at stage 2 as a grievance against your line manager has to be raised with your second line manager. You can print off the grievance procedure and forms from the intranet.

Your second line manager will probably get your manager to apologise to you but will argue that its not a conduct code matter as your manager believed she was acting out of concern for you. I would accept the apology graciously and enjoy your new relationship with your manager. She won't give you any more trouble.

That is totally unacceptable! What should have happened, is that you should have been told to go and see one of the First Aiders, who would have looked at your injury IN THE FIRST AID ROOM. Or if you don't have one (if not why not?), certainly in a more hygenic private area than a toilet.

I don't think it would come under B&H. But you should certainly put in a grevance against your DOM. I'd also recommend that you see your H&S Rep about this as soon as possible. Before it happens to anyone else!

My first thought when reading this was WTF! i'd be horrified if my manager asked me to do that  If rolling up your trouser leg wasn't an option then i'd of just refused. Plus if you think the injury is going to affect you doing your round i'd go to the doc's and get a proper note.
Just say NO ....to the new agreement.

that might arguably be the case OR somebody might be that shocked / surprised whatever that they complied with the request . You could say it's a form of aggressive manipulation or worse ? , whoever said it may or may not have known exactly what they were doing .

Maybe RM want staff softened up so much that they think that sort of thing is normal ? . To quote a Senior Manager - " We need a " culture change " "

Either way it's all Playground stuff i.e. " they're all lazy , swinging the lead and we're so perfect " , that's the attitude of a bratty teenager with the morals of a six year old :hmmmm . That sort is usually a narcissist which ties in with being a bully .

As someone's missus said , a Senior Nurse with 26 years service , it was unprofessional .

I was shocked at first

I suppose it depends on how the request was handled ie: was it one of sympathy or more of a direct order. :hmmmm

It it was an ordered request then i think to refuse was the way forward.

Im shocked cant believe the actions of your DOM. This is a disgraceful act of stripping you of your dignity how dare they do this to you,who do they think they are.

R/M is a place of work not a concentration camp.

Tomorrow get in touch with your rep tell him you want him to get in touch with the area or divisonal rep to make an offical complaint asap do not be fobbed by him this is the road you wish to go down. Ask your rep to speak to the DSM or SOM these are the bosses of your manager. Have you considered seeking legal advice if you are in the union you can ring i think simpson/millar solicitors and they will give you sound advice. Ring the B/H line aswell tomorrow and get in documented by them. And my last advice possibly ring the police whether any laws been broken i do not know maybe after talking to the unions solicitors this would be made more clear to you.

Document now whilst its fresh in your mind the sequence of events have you any witnesses .

Please do not let this lie this is totally unacceptable by a DOM to do this they have no authority to ask you to strip.

Madelin my feeling exactly but you said it in fewer words :Applause :Applause

Please can you keep us posted on how you get on Good Luck and stay strong
