Just count yourself lucky that you live on the mainland because most won't deliver over here  but on a happier note - I did save £4 on the last thing I ordered online because the original company wouldn't deliver to NI :Very Happy

redneck wrote:I am still in trainers, my standard RM boots haven't arrived yet (4 months employed so far). Pathetic.

On the latter, been told that the hours we owe after not delivering must be worked back for nowt.
I'm not entirely certain, but I think you should refuse to go out on delivery if you have not been issued RM shoes - if you have an accident, RM might refuse you any compensation ( on the basis you were not using the issued Personal Protective Equipment - shoes, or hi vis or both )......can someone clarify my point, just so redneck has something to rely on if his LM or DOM orders him out on the threat of conduct coding?

On the second point read this entire thread ( http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 55&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) and tell your mangers to get bent! First and foremost, your H&S at work should be paramount.....pressuring people to work in dangerous conditions is wrong, even more so if they leave the choice up to you ( "Go out and deliver now, or work later to make up lost time for free!" - some choice! )

I think for any management announcement you think is inherently wrong or unfair - not just this winter - request all orders etc IN WRITING and signed by them
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Mail delivery; those that can, do, those that can't, MANAGE!

I hope that everyone that is buying safety equipment to do their job is keeping the receipts to give to the DOM's!
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
