No snow for us yet
But minus 4 deg c till about midday then it really warmed up to -1
Not a bad day mail wise but with some absorbtion on top it took me right to my time.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Schools closed, snow well up your shins, buses stopped, side roads were / are impossible to drive down, traffic in chaos all over the district. We suggested the 'take where you live' option as a way of getting more delivered, and the sub-plankton management refused, meaning hardly anything was delivered in our D O due to problems faced accelerating and returning people from deliveries. Was told to attempt your delivery then changed their mind and made us
take the street you live in and go home.
The word 'thick' doesn't do management justice.

Prioritised the mail for delivery and left the less important stuff for another day as per instructions. More packets today. It was easier going under foot today but no way of using bikes in the weather. Driver decided to go AWOL and several of us will be chasing the DOM tomorrow for an explanation as to why we had to wait for bags.

No delivery from the Mail Centre due to dangerous driving conditions so their drivers were sent home. We still had to go out with what little had come in (less than a pouch for the entire walk in some cases) and the damned lightbulbs. Very uneven underfoot due to the constant melting and refreezing, nearly went over a couple of times but persevered and managed to get about half my D2D done. Done for 1:15. Thursday, we'll be getting hammered with 2 days worth i suppose.

One of my customers is a former pornographer and the rumour is he and his wife starred in his blue movies.Certainly she is "surgically enhanced".She is always very friendly.
She normally lets me into their block of flats and comes to collect her mail at the door.I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks and today she came to the door to show me the chihuahua she got for xmas.
But just imagine how much better my day would have been if someone had bought her a beaver for xmas.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Delivered two thirds of my rual yesterday. In at 6 30, threw off all my mail and tied the lot up (a hefty amount I must add) by 8 15 am. The snow began again to fall heavily so were informed that we have to wait until 10 30 for a concrete decison via conference call, two hours! What made it worse is that I then had to return all of my mail back into the frame, bugger. We waited, a few snowball fights and I even got to play my drumkit in the works basement at 9 in the morning complete with a bass guitarist and audience, surreal but fun. Two hours wait only to be told to finally go home. The first time I can recall no single delivery in my twelve years here.

Tricky going again. Took the dated and anything that looked urgent. Cleared the packets. No sign of it clearing in Manchester. Loads of people at home. Very cold temperatures recorded locally, never went above 0 all day. Weather girl said the temperature is set to plummet again tonight.
