I had ligament damage to my shoulder caused from playing rugby i was off work for 3 months solid, surely knee ligament damage would take considerably longer to recover seems you have gone back to work rather early good on you DIM for giving you a bit of support but i bet if you aggrevate your knee in the future his support wont be there.

We have a good acting DOM i our office (whos a woman) and i had to go in the other day an argue the toss over duty allocation .They agreed to what i asked for which i felt rather odd but then found out there mother-in-law had passed away the previous night i felt a rite twat then i peered into there office about an hour later and saw them head in hands at there desk which made me feel worse just hope the lad whos duty i got changed appreciates it.

Seen as we are talking about bad knees im off me docs on my day off i really do need my ankles.knees and hips looked at as im in that much pain now doing a delivery and im only 36 hopefully they will send me for a scan its really starting to get me down now.

One last thing did the AOD go down in the accident book and did you caring DIM fill out an ERIC report

I tore a ligament in my ankle nearly two years ago. I was advised by my doctor and the ATOS nurse I spoke to to rest it for a couple of weeks, even though I wasn't in pain. The reason was that the ligaments take time to repair, and until they do you are at risk of further injury.

mclovin wrote:Credit where its due, I slipped over Christmas down some steps taking the person inf ront of me down, they fell right on my knee when my leg was at an angle causing ligament damage. He's been great, covering my flats while I have done the houses. Next week will be the third week Ive had help.

So for that I got to say thanks to the guy.
Holy s**t, this must be a wind up. But if it aint then cause your dom will help you. its easier to get someone to do part of a delivery than cover the whole delivery especially when over xmas there aint many spare staff around. Phone in sick tomorrow ffs. Your doing yourself no favours and your knee will get worse. And its an accident at work which means more work for your dom if you do go sick. I can assure you he aint helping anyone except himself.

No, its not an accident at work, I did it while out on the ale. Might still phone in sick, or at the very least go see the doc on my day off, tuesday, just to see what he suggests.

THIS must be a complete wind up

If not when you see your doctor please get a referal to get your bumps felt as i feel you must have serious internal damage.

I have had surgery for cartlidge damage and although fine now i would never have been able or even considered doing a delivery.

Or could it be you were still pissed while doing delivery :d'oh!

Well depending on what you've actually done to your cartlidge and what I have done to my lateral collateral ligament (strain I think), then the 2 can hardly be compared.

Both are equally important in movement your knee , cartlidge being the cushion and the ligaments holding it all together.
No way should you be excerting undue presure on either climbing / decending stairs with a pouch bag while not 100%

I know, I havent been doing the stairs, just the houses.

You lot have got me bricking it now, thinking it wont heal unless I give it proper rest.

Definitely going to the docs tomorrow.

It probably is a strain otherwise there would be much more pain/swelling.
Don't take the posts to heart McL most of us have gone to work when we shouldn't have.
Hope your knee gets better soon but definately see your Doc.

Whatever you've done phone in sick for a week and go see the doctor. You will probably be told to get some x-rays or at least keep it elevated for a few days and definitely not attend work.
