Pay

Post by carpathia_kuja »

Just wondering if anyone can help me out please. My mam just got a job at the P.O early december'09. She has not had any pay as of yet and she's basically been told she has to wait until the end of january for her first wages, surely this can't be right because thats practically two months without any pay and she would get taxed more overall if she had to wait that long. Are there any phone numbers or is there anything she can do?

best regards

She wont pay more tax, she will pay exactly the same as if she was paid last month and this seperate, as for waiting nearly two months, she should ask her line manger why she was not paid for a part month at the end of december

The HR Helpline on 0845 601 6260 should be able to help. She will need her pay number handy when she calls, as they will need it. It is possible to get an advance of pay, especially in the circumstances, just ask.
HR will also be able to investigate why she did not get paid at the end of December, which does sound a bit odd. It could be a simple thing like an incorrect bank account number, so the sooner she calls them up, the sooner it will get sorted.
