I think next year RM needs to have an ad campaign to emphasise early posting for xmas...
it seems to me everyone this year left it till the last minute,
our first week of xmas pressure was one of the lightest weeks ive had in 9 years, after that volumes just went through the roof, still loads of xmas cards and pkts in our office waiting to go out in the new year

I'm sure I read/heard something in the news about the busiest online shopping day being later this year than last which would explain the packets problem - although managerial incompetence (on and of course, lets blame the weather) helped delay them - I've delivered a few Christmas presents this week and there's still a backlog in our office. As for cards, either people were posting late or more likely someone somewhere has cocked up as we are still delivering them and going on the date stamp they weren't posted late!

And of course this week we can add to the mix wilful delay of mail (by managers), to allow absorption to take place because they've got too many people off, trying desperately not to pay out any o/t and they've grossly underestimated traffic this week.. RM just gets better all the time :Very Happy :left:

You wont get a realistic count due to the fact the figures are not correct coming out of the mail centers.

I for one when sitting in on weekly resource meetings and the DIM hands me the figures for the last two weeks that they are not a true reflection of what we have actually handled in my D/O. Its starting to get rather boring week in week out now argueing the toss over these figures as hes blinkered to the truth but i can tell by his face he doesnt think they are true.

What im considered doing in my do is asking all cwu members to count over a four week period on a daily basis the mail they have in there fittings. What i am conserned about is where in there duty time there is actuall time to enable them to give me an accurate count, also asking them to do it for a month some will see this as a long time ,and no doubt i will be given fictious figures, which would then make us as bad as R/M which i do not want.

I got figures the other week that suggested walks only averaged 1200 items in there frame based on 49 walks BOLLOXS try doubling that by my reckoning more than likely is more.
I cant wait to see the figures next week,I suppose if the lads want a true count so we may argue R/M figures they will have to endure some how a month of counting on a daily basis. Before hand i will put it about the office to get there feelings on it hopefully they will see it as a must to do.
