Re: CWU Billy Hayes interviews at the counter G20 summit
Bumbling Billy is under the impression there is an agreement to prevent strikes is he? Here is a classic case where negotiations go on behind closed doors and decisions are taken without recourse to the membership - who I am quite certain are not going to vote for a no strike clause in whatever terms it is couched. This agreement needs to be very closely monitored indeed.

Re: CWU Billy Hayes interviews at the counter G20 summit
I think Billy is totally misguided and out of touch with the main reason that members belong to a Union. Do we want him to pursue his obvious calling as a member of parliament, or put all of his efforts into proper negotiations with industry based on what the majority of members are asking for.

that's why Politicians go looking for them , " Scupper this strike for us and we'll look after you " . Heard quite a few life long Labour Party members have resigned in Johnson's constituency , Keggie got a job with another union but that's a exception to the rule .stokes11eg wrote:norbert wrote:and per-sue another careerstokes11eg wrote:--'A new generation of activists?' what about this generation Billy? this on Alan Johnson
"Where Alan Johnson is concerned nothing would surprise me,I remember him well as a postman union rep back in the 80’s at Slough, where he caused umpteen strikes and walk-outs as he climbed the greasy union pole, eventually becoming the CWU General Secretary where he led the union in a national strike through the summer of 1996,over amongst other things ‘Teamworking’ and other TQM driven ideas, the dispute was abrubtly called off in September of that year, following the intervention of one Tony Blair who didn’t want militant unions rocking the boat in the run-up to the general election, then only a few months away.Surprise, surprise Johnson was then ‘parachuted’ into stand in a nice safe seat up in Hull – any connection?"

Yes he's waffling again - I wonder whystokes11eg wrote:More long winded speels from this man! Most of which are rehashes of someone elses' ideas. not so long ago, he wanted to cut ties to the labour party. He's in for a shock if they lose the next election. The only seat Bumbling Billy deserves should be attached to a toilet--still believe that he will be let down badly by the labour party
