Postman beaten with baseball bat and robbed of van

ROBBERS beat a postman with a baseball bat before stealing the keys to his vehicle and driving off.

The Royal Mail van driver was attacked at around 5.30pm on Tuesday December 22 on the Nottingham Trent University campus at Clifton.

He had stopped to collect a package when he was confronted by two men.

One of them was armed with a baseball bat and the driver was struck around the head and body.

The keys to his van were taken from him and the van was driven off. It was recovered from another location on the campus a short time later.

The driver required stitches to a head wound and has bruising on his back and legs.
