Packets were building up in our office even before the bad weather. Not enough vans or people to get them out. Cut offs everywhere and no one has the energy for overtime to clear the backlog.
RM does it on the cheap and the customer loses out again.
Btw, as the price for stamps is going up will we be charging more for DSA now?
The hours have been cut, the bulk duties have been cut, there are just 2 additional packet duties, there is a mountain of work to do and it will not be completed by christmas eve, the weather has been a contributory factor of course but it wouldn't have been completed anyway - now there is at least the argument of inclement weather for failure.........but in truth it is Royal Mails failure to understand that the job isn't done until it's delivered.
Must be a dozen cages of packets in our DO some first class reorded packets dated the 14th.
Total disgrace regardless of weather conditions , which is just a convenient excuse at present.
we love Parcels......
.....love backhealing them !!!
Seems RM have been witholding mail today, maybe to catch up with parcels/packets.
I bet tomorrow will be hell with the final push to deliver with xmas eve no early finish like it used to be
Xmas on the cheap will push the public in support of the posties future strikes, I predict 2010 will be hell in RM.
We always have a clear office With the exception of light bulbs that pile up, and up quicker than we deliver any. It doesn't seem to matter how many cut off there is always someone else willing to kiss arse and delivery it.
Life's only rosey if you make it that way...... There is life outside of Royal Mail you know!
There are gonna be a lot of disappointed kids at Christmas in our area , there is no way the parcels & packets are gonna be cleared by Xmas eve. Our Manager had a great opportunity to get on top with them yesterday, he could have held the 15 or so rurals in & got them to clear the towns packets/parcels, but he bottled it & let them try to deliver their rounds in appalling snowy conditions with that old chestnut, "Don't go & get stuck, as your on your own".
doubtful with our staffing levels plus we got 5/6 off sick and 4/5 on light duties and bad weather. several people tried getting in on their wally's or day off but couldn't.
heartbreaking really but completely out of our hands.
