Royal Mail becoming a joke!!!

Is there any other jobs about? What could we do instead of this job, factory work is usually worse although ive not done alot ,in my old jobs i didnt have a union and you had to fight for yourself although it was skilled work and they couldnt just replace you as easily .if the job was fair it would be a brilliant job i have a guy on the next fitting whos round is half the size of mine good luck to him but mine is usually too big, most have large rounds you are lucky to be on a good one these days . why cant they move people around more or is that going against what its all about ie dedicated posty . Im going to see line and see what he thinks in the new year otherwise heres hoping the economy picks up pre election..

Goldy TBH we have been screwed with the pensions shite pay freeze, modernisation even though RM anounced half yearly PROFITS bollocks we still get screwed oh and the mails dropping bollocks more like RM are dropping bolloxses of their own makeing ,

we have become like institutionalised time to get out and have a life instead of putting up with this shite

I still feel proud to wear the uniform at times, I know that the job is going down the shitter compared to how it was when I started 6 years ago but it's still miles better that any job I used to do.

I dont know what i think about the job these days Right now i am tired and my backs hurt all day so i am not over the moon with it. But, when people slag us off saying the service is terrible i still find myself defending the company.

When i was in my twenties i was very touchy about the postie thing and how some people used to typecast us as lossers Now iam a bit older i can take it well on the chin and feel quite proud (well mostly) to be someones Postie.

I will not defend the company and will slag off , because of the way they treat us and what they are doing to the service we all give. But I will defend the service , because we all are the service and I know how much effort we all put in for so little reward.

Spot on - I can't defend what I see as indefensible with regards to the current direction and ethos of RM and its management. But anyone says anything against front line staff (deliveries, collections and everything in between) and it riles me.
