Man jailed over post office robbery attempt

A man who attempted to rob an Aberdeenshire post office has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Scott Duguid, 20, carried out the raid, involving a female staff member, at Raemoir Road, in Banchory.

Duguid had admitted September's crime when he appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court earlier this month.

Sheriff Annella Cowan jailed Duguid for two years, and an additional six months for a bail aggravation. She said he must have caused "extreme fear".
