Royal Mail - the latest outrage from one of the least popular companies in the country

It's ironic that in a digital age, when we have swapped the stress and expense of Christmas shopping on the high street for the ease and simplicity of online shopping, we should be reliant on one of the most backwards companies in the UK to complete the deal.
Royal Mail has already demonstrated just how robust the company is, by holding us all to ransom a couple of months ago in order to resist changes to working patterns. Now a new study has shown that it's going to wreck Christmas not through strikes, but by a general inability to deliver.
The survey, by the Consumer Focus Group found that more than half of us received a 'Sorry, you were out' card when we were actually in that and it has happened to 25% of us at least three times in the last year.
At any time of year, that's a pain in the neck. A third of people find the schlep to their sorting office inconvenient, and the opening hours impossible to work with if you have a job.
But at Christmas, it's even more annoying. If we order any time in the last fortnight, there's a good chance we will be close to the wire, so we cannot afford to waste days arranging redelivery, or try to carve out an extra hour in a hectic festive schedule to pick up the parcel.
Of course, Royal Mail has said the survey results do not reflect their experience. A spokesman said: "If there are any incidents of the cards not being used properly we want customers to tell us so we can deal with it immediately."
However, a Consumer Focus spokesman retorted: "There is a growing body of evidence this is far from a series of isolated incidents... This issue has ti be thoroughly investigated and the problem stamped out."
So, this would mean Royal Mail seizing an issue head-on, and dealing with something that has blighted service for years. If they try to clamp down on working practices again I reckon we can start preparing for the next wave of strikes now

- No what's ironic is that for something that purports to be a Business Blog and therefore trustworthy - just rehashes a biased viewpoint and presents no facts to support its views apart from a questionable survey that was less than balanced. It's ironic

What a load of b*****ks written by someone who very rarely steps out of their heated/air con office.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

When did we become "one of the least popular companies in the country?"
I thought everybody loved us.
I thought everybody loved us.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

And that's after we're opening the callers office for longer too. The CFG must only be polling lazy people.A third of people find the schlep to their sorting office inconvenient, and the opening hours impossible to work with if you have a job.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

We are opening them for longer at xmas.I bet in the New Year, the demand for cuts will reduce further the opening hours of the callers office.Thorby Bislam wrote:And that's after we're opening the callers office for longer too.
