Severe Weather Policy

Post by Stormproof »

Anyone knows what triggers the policy on Severe Weather? We never had one at our office last year even though the temps got down to -9.5c with snow and ice. I'm still having treatment for my fall back in January and I don't want to be fobbed off this year :so there
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Just read the severe weather policy document http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... er#p142483" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and there is no minimum temperature just that managers should use common sense.

link to HSE page below

Suggest organised breaks on a regular basis assuming portable heating not available. This in turn will reduce prepping and IPS time and will lighten your pouches , office will fail that day and force managers to sortt out heating.
Any other suggestions to find a compromise berween working environment and getting the job done ?

I noticed a print out of the Severe Weather Policy on one of the LM's desk today, its probably best our managers do some revision on this looking at what the weather has got in store for my area in the next couple of days :nervous
