was a great view to watch, it really highlighted what the postmen have been saying all along and fair play to that postman who went on camera to have his walk tested, i just hope the royal mail see he was a genuine bloke trying to make a living concerned about his job and not try to get him out.

I doubt they'd do it overtly - but if they do want to punish him, they'll either stich him up for some cobblers ( dodgy if he went to IT - "I went on Panorama and then the screws victimised me" ) or they'd go down the Roger Annies route & shove him in the Room of Doom for the rest of his natural

Bloke like that needs support from his colleagues more than ever now, hope he gets it.

Have to agree with what has been said already, but would of liked to see marine doing the job properly for a month, so he would have to read mail, knock on doors, deliver pkts etc, and mainly to do the job when its pissing down with rain, for most people the first week is a bit of a jolly, but after a month you know how shagged out you fell from Wed onwards, and just look ofrward to your rota week coming around.
I'd like to think the BBC would keep in contact with the postman regulary just to see that he hasn't been stitched up.
Could do with a few more programs like this, hopefully they might do a follow up after say 6 months, to see if any of these talks have any effect, and to see if the top management have been given the boot.

Nice to see that wan*er Tolhurst showed himself for the prat he is ,when challanged could n't decide on how fast we should walk and we now only deliver 6 or 8 extra packets , my arse . Most days I'm looking at 4-5 sacks of packets plus all the extra "revenue earning " crap we all have to take , not to mention d2d.

I think at the end of the documentary the presenter says they will keep up to date with Martin over the next few months , so think Der Management will have to take it easy on him .As Norbert says he could probably take them down the PIDA route if they do dare to try and harass him in any way.Bloke should be entered into the RMC Hall of Fame !

2 mins per packet waiting, then fill in form as opposed to an average of 4 letters per address dived by 50 = 10-12 drops on a terrace.

Didn,t take into account that we have already been stood up for at least 3 hours sorting prior to delivery. I wonder whether the courier will splash this report all over the front pages. I guess not. And yes Tolhurst proved that he hasn,t got a clue what is involved in delivering a postal walk. Pity they didnt have him doing exactly the same as what the marine did. I think he might have still been out there.

R/M couldnt have chosen a better person than Mr.tolhurst to be there mouth piece .

He came across in my eyes as very arrogrant and dictatory .

The best for me was when the interviewer asked him about the speed we have to walk ,firstly he denied it than two sentences later said yes we do and we expect our employees to walk at a brisk pace. The fecking ex-marine couldnt manage it how the feck does he expect us to .I bet there are very few posties that walk at a slow speed any hows reason being you get acustomed to walking at what a normal JOE would class as a brisk speed anyway.

How many times you been out shopping with the mrs and shes allways pulling you back you dont even realise your walking at that speed.

What i was wondering today was hows the lad that gave the interview got on in work today has he been called into see his DOM anyone heard anythink i hope all went well for him.

On the lady tipping her packet bag i take it her DOM interfered with the packets that were put in it .

Didnt seem there were any large items that she tipped out i nearly wet myslf seeing the size of those tiddlers coming out. I bet on any other day she has monster packets in her bag and she should ask her DOM for new scatchel.

All in all i think it done us proud and showed R/M in a very very bad light now the public should understand a bit better what our dispute is actually about .

I had a laugh when they interviewed those people who were disallusioned wth RM becuase of the strikes and how "they and their customers didn't trust us",so they decided to use the "competition".
They probably wouldn't have been so smug if they found out the "competition" is ripping them off with delivery charges and then sending their parcels through RM just for those untrustworthy posties to actually deliver in the end.
Honestly people's ignorance on this subject is unreal sometimes.
