what to do?
I did my bit for the union the last Friday but I dont see the point of striking again. Rather than cross he line at my own office I think it would be better to book some leave phone in sick or go into the mail centre. What do people think is best?

DONT LET RM WALK ALL OVER US... OR OUR JOBS WONT BE WORTH TUPPANCE....
WE NEED AS MUCH BACKING AS WE CAN GET.... KEEP THE UNITY AND THE STRENGTH!!!

I hear u L Tommo but what if we cant win and the only question is how much money we lose before we get back to work. All the papers seem to be on Royal Mails side an they are saying that the union is trying to run the business and go back to the 1970s. Inside Royal Mail we know we have a strong union that can often stop management having its way but maybe we have forgotten how this looks to the outside world? And I dont want to lose my wife or my house thank you VoR!

How will you know if you dont try???
If Churchill and the leaders never stood up to Hitler and the Nazis we wouldnt be in a country that had rights If The Labour Movement never stood up to bully boy tatics back in the industrial revolution and after we would still be sending kids or the old into hazardous jobs.. How about us working for a goverment that tells us how much we can earn and how much time we have to spend doing it??? Thats just what your let happen if you give up now....
FACT..... Shall we be state run. Govend by The Miliatry??? Its bad enough now being the most watched Capital in the world and Big brother is all seeing and watching... So what shall we do ??? ROLL OVER N DIE???? Nice thought aint it!!!!!!
So stop whinging and back the democratic majority and back your mates and be a man...... not a doormat for big al n lil adam and his old school chums!!!
I think your wife will want a man n not a whimp!!!
Sorry but its true!!!

£40 is what my guys lost roughly (Outer London wages) last week.
To lose that every now and again aint gonna hurt nobody,i'm not flushed but it aint gonna kill me.
No one is gonna lose their house lol
But at the end of the day everyone has a choice and has to live with the consequences.
Best to leave this strong union as well before you strike break, they will kick you out of it anyway.
They wont swallow you phoning in sick unless you've got a doctors note, and it's too late for Annual Leave.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I'd be losing my wife and kids if I ever crossed a picket line. I couldn't blame them. What self-respecting person would have anything to do with a scab?postmangnu wrote:I hear u L Tommo but what if we cant win and the only question is how much money we lose before we get back to work. I'm a single parent with 2 teenagers to look after, I get a flat week wage each week and my child benefit, nothing else. There is no way I would consider crossing the picket line. We knew weeks ago we were going to strike at some point so I explained to my kids that there would be no treats until this is resolved and they understood that, even though they need new shoes etc and want to go out with there mates. We all have to make sacrifices at some point to get the message across. It will be worth it in the long run for all of us.

This is why we must win! The future of kids like yours. Left to the strike breakers, kids will end up being nothing more than serfs for parasites like Leighton and Crozier.
