I'm guessing it's a p739 saying we could not deliver because the shop/business was shut?

When I knocked the Bloke came to the door and did a double take, :left: - give him his due he did apologise.

Quite right you are but whatever happened too ROYALMAILS zero tolerance of racism and abuse of all our staff!. THE DOM IS LACKING IN HIS DUTIES AND RESPECT FOR YOU AND ROYALMAILS POLICIES REPORT HIM TO HIS MANAGER ABOVE HIM!.

I think whatever you do you need it recorded in writing what happened with your dom so its on record. Therefore if you have any trouble after with this man, for instance you were in a pub and he was in there with his mates and recognized you, started with comments or abuse and it turns to anything else, you have it on record that this man has already threatened and made racial comments to you. It would also help your case if you end up giving him a proper good hiding.

I think the dom is hoping that I have forgotten the incident or hoping it will get to the point where he can say its a bit late to send out a letter. I'll give it until the end of the week before I approach him again about it. I should have pointed out why the monkey bit offended me in the first post, sorry.

I think any and all abuse should be reported, regardless of whether it is racial, gender, sexual orientation or just plain rudeness. You are not paid to take abuse, especially for following RM's 'safeguarding the mail' procedure. In my office it would not be tolerated and the DOM or linos would ensure it. They are a pain in the a*** most of the time, but they would not allow this, the same with dogs or aggressive customers on delivery.
It may be an assumption, but you were probably on your own at the time and that may need addressing.

Pinstripe. I was with another (Lightduty walk postman) who wandered off as soon as the guy started to get aggressive. Not sure if he was making sure he wasnt taking any abuse or didnt realise what was going on. when I told him what had been said he replied he didnt hear a thing. I wouldnt want him to lie but I always make sure I stay put by my colleagues sides if there is going to be a troublemaking customer.
