:chuckle :chuckle Don't you just love it.
Some completely inept and unqualified banker at the top gets a £3 million bonus for a three day week ,and the dimwits who actually do the work are ready to rip each others throats out for the sake of 20 mins. a day. :chuckle :chuckle That my friends is the reason some of you will die of hypothermia when your pension won't run to heating. :left:

Which is exactly what seniority is in a way - length of service does not make you the best as proven by some runners in our office.[/quote]

At our office we have had a guy move over from parcel force, he has brought his seniority with him and has pipped a lot of people in the holiday pick. He is also going to get a easy vacant round that has just become available despite only being a postman for about 3 weeks. The reserves who have been f****d about for 2 years are less than impressed

If i remember correctly if he's transfered from parcel force he does not carry over his seniority ? only those who try it for a short period and then return to the mail side get to retain seniority. unless this changes if he's no option but to switch because of a job restructure etc... but i'm sure someone can shed more light than me

It used to depend on way the change came about. If it was imposed on you you kept your seniority but if it was your choice you lost it. it may be diff now though :hmmmm

Way Forward, Section 6.
Seniority.

13.5 .... However exceptionally where an employee moves into Royal Mail on level transfer from a grade in another business that is broadly equivalent (for example, a Parcelforce or Cashco postal employee moving into the operational postal grade or a Romec Cleaner moving into the operational support grade), then previous service in that business on that grade will count towards seniority.
