Re: where is all the mail?
Boy o boy did our office get snotted today was far worse than yesterday 18 bundles of walk sort 2 walk sorted trays of flats and then trays from the ips thank god im on a long week end.
Left three full bags of packets under frame simply no time to even sort them so tomorrow i will more than likely get another three, 2 at the least of packets.
I just look at them and think they are some ones xmas presents that should be delivered on time. Told the manager and he didnt give a shite its disgusting were are the resources to cope with the influx of packets why isnt the DOM managing the situation like a manager should.
Just in case any of you are wondering if i did ake any packets out yes i did yesterdays packets

Re: where is all the mail?
There has been virtually no MS3 in the past couple of days which for my duty really helps (lots of catalogues and other junk mail) but there has been a massive increase in both small and large packets (not to mention SDs).

Re: where is all the mail?
Wheres all the mail??! You serious? I want a job at your DO.
Our XMAS pressure hasn't even started yet,but our manager has been phoning part-timers all week to come in early to do some sorting,as our DO,through cuts and hours being taken out of it,is in no postion to cope with the amount of mail we've been getting recently.
Plus some D***HEAD decided it was a good time to start sending lighbulbs out at this time of year.

Re: where is all the mail?
I guess the MC finally found the mail. Total hammering today, half hour over but cant claim OT due to Tuesdays debacle.
Well at least the weathers mild and theres no snow and ice.

Re: where is all the mail?
Running the office with the barest minimum of staff because christmas duties begin next week apparently...wtf? Callers office still closing at two pm instead of the usual festive six pm but just you wait until next week. Two in on o/t delivering parcels though because we rurals simply havent the time to do them at the end of our delivery anymore due to the sheer number of packets.
Oh yes, just to add to the situation our area manager has insisted that we now have to break off to deliver SD's before the one pm cut off...even if it entails driving miles! It took me an extra eighteen minutes (there and back) to attempt a SD delivery today and of course no one was at home. I claimed the o/t.

Re: where is all the mail?
I'd do the same, but tbh I'm getting to the point now where I can't be arsed and would rather be at home. I'm fed up now of being expected to work extra. Anyone else feel the same?Ogg wrote:Running the office with the barest minimum of staff because christmas duties begin next week apparently...wtf? Re: where is all the mail?
Battered again today left 5 full trays and 4 packet bags.
I have now raised this issue with the DOM and if hes true to his word resources at the barest minimum will be put in place come monday to releive the walk men of packets and help the walks that are struggling.
The drivers in our office are cleaning up on the O/T at present aswell as getting S/A and O/T for collections they are getting saturday O/T sunday O/T and day off O/T plus i think O/T before there collections start .
The walkmen get to book if they go over at normal rate possibly offered to work there day off at normal rate and we have all bar 9 out of 82 told them to shove the poltry offer of 2hr S/A rate for the saturdays leading up to xmas ,they have been told we are only working till our time which on a saturday is off the road at 11.15 if we have nothink to bring back so like me who brings back a full bag of F/S packets i will be off the road at 11.00.
Happy Xmas R/M
