What are the rules on a 'Flowthrough' ??

Post by Destroyer »

I feel i may of been dealt a poor hand in my office where i have been left jobless ?? The duty that i currently perform that i signed for in the office resign of Summer 2008 has been pinned on the board under a different duty number of which over 60 % of the contents are the same as i currently perform & 0% of which the current duty number holder performs ?? Other jobs have changed 100% & the staff have been handed a flow through, yet ive been asked to select another job from a list of vacant duties ?? In my opinion there is a discrenpency in the duty number of the new duties, however according to my rep my job has gone, yet the person who is expected to pick up what i would call my job has no resemblence to these duty contents at all on his current duty ?? Sorry if this sounds confusing, but i feel like ive been stitched right up. The CWU have worked hand in hand with management on creating these new duties & am feeling every bit as though i am being victimised & in all the years i have worked for RM '20yrs' i have never known a duty to be taken from one & given to another without a resign ?? Divide & Conquer is the Unions motto - it seems they are coluding with management in this case by playing me off against somebody else - its a total disgrace.

Never heard the term "flowthrough", I imagine it is something from the distant past.
If it was me in your position my first port of call would be the grievance procedure, all resigns should be done to the nationally agreed formula. This ensures there is no discrimination involved.
Have you spoken to the area rep? Your branch should have an equality officer, this could also be a useful contact.
If all that fails phone CWU HQ and ask for the equalty department.

check out "the way forward" agreement citizen, if 75% of your duty has had major change then it can be offered as part of a resign. Yet another bunch of lies being spoken by management in this period of calm :wave

This just smells of stitch up to me, at least 60% plus of the duty contents including meal relief etc are exactly the same job description as i already do, the same run/route i already perform at the same times. All that has been changed in my opinion is the Duty nmuber & the final 2hrs of a normal 8hr shift. I'm pretty certain under the guidelines of the Way Forward they cannot just give my job to someone else without a re-sign ?? I could really do with some advise please before i take some much needed action.

2/3rds of the office has to have major change to create a re-sign or the office can vote on one, however if no major change has effected any duty then that duty holder of the unchanged duty has the right not to offer there duty as part of any re-sign. hope this makes sence citizen and good luck :wave
