yes change is envitable, so its important we have a strong union. all this sniping at union officials is pointless.
ir reps and area reps do a thankless job and one step out of line they find themselves disciplined or sacked.

in london we striked to try and put an end to the EA that was going on. as far as i know it worked, once we started striking they couldn't continue with the EA. i think now we're starting to get back the 4 day week's and some offices are going to have revisions after xmas. i can't say i ageed to ending the strike's when we did but it's done now. all any of us can do now is sit tight and hope those at the top can deliver.

Thats the problem, they can't deliver, thats why they are sat on their backsides talking about someone else doing it.

You know dvb, I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt but they seem to have done little or nothing beyond keeping themselves in a job for a while longer.

well our rep told us all to stop using cars and i think the term he used was work safely and we would get either hours or duties put back in to the office. we've been doing this now for month's. it'll be ineresting to see if he and the union can deliver on this promise.

He cant - and its not a put down, what I mean is if your unit is suffering under cuts and they have taken out too many duties then this is 100% the best tactic to use to get hours and duties back in.

However, the CWU nor the rep can actually put them back in RM management have to do that and they will only do so when they are getting their heads chewed off by people further up the food chain. This unfortunately means you need at a minimum probably 95% of the office "doing the job properly" but ideally 100%, the less you have doing it the longer the haul, but it is definitely worth doing IMHO.

we've got 99.9% of the office doing the job properly. and to be honest even if we don't get anything back i can't see people rushing to go back to the bad old day's where we were all running around. most of us are working to our time or near enough to it but all the pressure is now on our managers not us. and there's one thing they can't do and that's give us more work.

i am not putting down reps on here i velieve they too have been misguided through this sorry mess by idiots at the top who just had a power struggle and we ve all been in the middle
