I would suggest that the rest of the country could benefit from London CWU input.

If only we had thought of that :d'oh!
Your suggestion is duly noted and taken on board Daz

As for the rest of the Country Geo Route or pegus 2 is coming early Jan by Agreement from national CWU not local CWU and we have one off the best Reps in the Country who is tipped for greater things .

We had Pegus 1 wich failed now by Agreement National we are going to have impossible size walks and later park and loop, its not just that its all the threats and stupid questions from Linos as well when you tell them you have no chance of completing.

Still why should I worry about when we have a national agreement where the grass roots are ignored even though we pay their wages!

KH

The policy on monthly pay is the same as that which was made in 2007.

That policy is that as part of phase 4 talks RML and CWU will look at how to implement monthly pay.

Dave Ward made it very clear at the time that if monthly pay agreement was reached it would subject to a membership ballot in order for the membership to make the decision.
Yes I think that vote will be on the same ballot paper that the pension vote will be on - remember that pension problem - decoupled from the original agreement ballot - well we're still waiting - you see some of us DO see the REALLY BIG PICTURE and don't forget the promises made - unfortunately not promises to keep it seems.

Just this week they have imposed 'banked hours' in our d.o. even though this was supposed to be phase 4.

Everything that has previously been rejected will come in. Even when a membership ballot rejects any deal it will simply be repackaged and then put out to ballot again.
Why do you think HQ pander to London?, its because London bother to organise and turn out the vote whether it be for a national ballot or in an election.
You cant blame London because they get their own way, its quite simply because in the North we have lousy branch representation and namby pamby divisional representation.
Monthly pay is the least of our worries.

This certainly needs to be flagged up.
I would skip the usual processes though those lines of communication appear to be down at the moment.
Try phoning ACAS directly you never know.

True ,and typhoid is an age old disease ,but it does not mean it's good for you.
Can't quite believe that you are defending the emphasis placed on local agreements in the 2007 agreement. Look around the comments, "my rep did this; my rep did not do that; my division got this;is this kosher ;can RM get away with this", all day every day. You can't deny that the 2007 deal with it's local element effectively gave management the green light to drive a truck and trailer through all our union protection.
The 2007 deal is the reason we are in this position now and to deny that is to fly in the face of reality.

First things first there were other divisona joint statements and comms agreed i have seen the South West and South Wales one and the anglia one but i believe there are others.

Now in terms of monthly pay , lets get things straight Royal Mail have been trying to introduce this since cashless pay was introduced in the 80s. It was in the Way forward and other national agreements. It was also in the PAY and Mod and if you scoll back you will be able to read the comments that monthly pay was coming in and the union had agreed to it. Well we are 2 years down the road and monthly pay is still not in. Will it be dscussed yes , remember we have monthly pay in Network and Romec. However as has been indicated it is not a forgone conclusion and the members will ultmately decide by the way of a vote.

Now lets examine some snipets of the divisional reports:

South Central - 15 cases outstanding , no decisons reached discussing with IR managers. Casuals issues resolved. Fortnightly meetings with regional directors being cascaded down to other levels, slow process but postive and optmistic about moving forward.

Scotland / Northern Ireland _ 2 cases still on going . Faciltiy issues resolved , casuals resolved. Div Reps and Regional Directors agreed way forward on agreement , area reps to meet respectiv e managrs and monitor progress at Local level.

South East - 1 case on-going , rep had facilities restored . Overtiime and causal issues restored. KT/TW postcode delay due to managers on holiiday meeting director 26th Novemeber. DA/MA/TN meetings going ahead progress being made and reviews going ahead.

Midlands - Some cases resolved but 3 still on -going .Causal and overtime issues sorted. Birmingham no imposed change - Covertry no imposed change in mail centre , delivery talks under way - Derby agreement reviewed , Leicester exec action being reviewed. Northants all change reverted back to stage 2 and being reviewed. Notts some problems mangement working outside MTSF , Stoke reviews to commence at local level , Wolverhampton one office where car derived van duty was intorduced remains unresolved.

North West North Wales - 3 cases resolved infromally 1 still outstanding. Normal levels of overtime . North West meetings taking place at all levels. Wales local reps and managers re-engaging in offices affected by executive action.

North East - 2 cases resolved and 3 outstanding. Rep release still unreslved in Middlesboro. Overtime levels normal causals a problem still. Area reps and DSMs and MCMs reviewing stage 1 and 2 and executive action. Engagement postive.

South West South Wales - 9 cases resolved 2 outstanding. All facility time restored and some additonal release granted. No issues with overtime or casuals. Reogional Management tems in SW SW met and progress was made. Cornwall all units have had meetings , Bristol all meetings productive and re-engagement a success. South East Wales major issues with revison meeting set up to discuss , Bournemouth re-engagment underway making progress , Gloucestershire making progress , Worcester and Hereford No EXec action. South West Wales Promblems with IR meeting set with regional director to move forward. Plymouth and East Cornwall progress being made agreements to be sercured this week in deliveries. Mail Centre in principle agreement been reaches. Western Countries progress being made , Gwent progress.

Anglia -2 cases resolved 2 awaiting NAP and 3 awaiting review. Progress made on overtime and casuals. intial problems with absorbtion and resoucing but problems overcome and re-engagment taking place.

So these are the reports do you agree these reports are true ?

See my other post regarding local reports being watered down, but I'll say it again. Feck all has changed in my office, we are no further forward than we were 4 weeks ago.

Dingo

Most on here are rank and file members, how on earth would they know?

All they can tell you is the situation as they see it in their own workplace, not the overall picture for their branch/division.

IMHO The problem with local agreements is that the local members get little if no say in what is agreed by division/branch.One example of this my area has to clear mailsort3 on a saturday, when the rest of the country leave it till monday,a decision taken by area/branch without asking the members. So left to our local negotiators what different terms and conditions can we look forward to at branch/division level. This is a national union not a local one and whatever national agreement is signed off it should not be open to local interpretation by DOM's.
