Notice in our office that RM will be taking a days leave off everyone 'cos of no work day on Sat 26th,my rest day is the Saturday,not really botherd about not getting it back,CWU can kiss my mistletoed arse (i'm gonna argue to get my outstanding odd days on w/c 28th based on this stupid decision,would'nt it have been easier to give everyone that Saturday as their rest day? ),its proper chrimbo,i tell thee

Are any ag made up to full time at chrismas we used to be but last year and this year we are not.Been told we can book overtime as and when.

They can be. About 200, I think, out of 500 have been made up to FT over the Christmas period at my MC.

my dayoff that week is the saturday 26. will RM pay me overtime every day but stop rest of office who would need to work 8 hours to make there time up to 40 hours if you see what i mean

3.2 People normally scheduled to work on Saturday will not attend on 26 December and will not be required to make up the hours (i.e. there will be no claw back)

I don't really understand the thinking behind this but it is official (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/LivingintheUK/DG_073741) If you look at that link next year they are even moving Christmas Day?! WTF If my day off were on the Saturday I would be annoyed too but not surprised, they can't expect you to work on Boxing day! Banks are the root of all evil, BANK holidays

No,aint it,it says no claw back.

EDIT:But then it says the below,i'm confused.

When their rest day falls on a bank holiday (not Saturday 26), people will receive an additional day holiday (including those working ‘a week off in six’).

The saturday is not a bank holiday so unlike those with Friday or Monday off RML are under no obligation to give a day back.


RML/CWU seem to have agreed that as Saturday is no service day then its simply unfortunate for those who have thier day off on the Saturday.


We need a national agreement that gives no service days the same status as bank holidays?
